I envy her. She's a woman with a job in the gaming industry. She's everything I want to be. I'm sorry women have different chromosomes, but i'm confused what that has to do with any aspect of writing for, enjoying, designing for, or otherwise sanctioning video games.
A number of the reddit comments were about her use of homosexuality in her writing, weren't they? Oh, boo hoo. Equality. Strangely enough her writing in these games hasn't turned me from a straight woman into a lesbian, and most of the time, I actually play a heterosexual couple. What I can do, however, is to enjoy the fact that if I WISH to witness the writing for a homosexual couple of either gender, it's there. Often, I do. Why shouldn't I? If I didn't want to, I wouldn't have to.
I wish I worked for Bioware. I still love their games. I have my problems with them, I felt ripped off with DA2, and I probably won't pre-order DA3. Does that mean I won't buy it? Does that mean I want a whole new team of writers? No and no.
I hope people remember the cardinal rule: You Can't Please Everyone.
"You're confusing a war [...] with not getting everything you want."
