I don't trust the protheans and how could all the statues on Ilos still be standing after 100,000 years should all the statues from the pervious race before the protheans be completely obliterated by the reapers and by time?

So the reapers are not the reason why the previous race before the protheans disappeared I just thought that the reapers where harvesting since the beginning of their creation

Plus, Ilos was a secret place.
Reapers didn't come there during their invasion on Prothean Empire.

Oh ok So I guess we will find out what happened to the previous race before the protheans in mass effect 3 because the picture in the codex for mass effect 2 looks nothing like the prothean that I have been seeing

^ME1 Codex entry on Protheans doesn't use Ilos statue for picture.

Also, Codex entries are mostly written from Citadel Council perspective. Historians in ME universe probably just jumped on conclusion.
They do that often in real life as well, in past and today.

We know what happened to them. They got Reapered like every other race before them.

Liara builds a translating device. She has found some prothean info as a shadow broker that helps him decode and translate their language.

- A window to the past, more info about the events of his cycle.
- Intresting banter with Liara
- some humorous moments on the Citadel
- a badass biotic fighter in your squad
