I live in South Korea and was looking forward to getting DAO but unfortunatly Direct 2 Drive won't allow me to purchase the US version outside of the the US, and when I click on the pre-order Dragon Age link at the EA store it just redirects me to the EA Korea site... So it looks like I'll be picking up the Korean version, if anything.

So can anyone tell me if the Korean version will have an English install and play option?  I dont just mean English voices, because I know it will have that.  I mean English menus and all of that.  Also do you think I'll still be able to get the items I unlocked in Journeys to work with the Korean version of the game?

Thanks!

Are there any other sites you could order from that would allow purchase from Korea or shipping to Korea? =(

You may have to order a physical copy and wait a while to get it.. :/ I have friends overseas and they sometimes have to do this in order to get a game in English or be able to play with their friends if it's an MMO.

Not that I could find, I've tried both Yes-Asia and Play-Asia (which I think are the same company) And they wont accept my Korean Visa, Amazon will send me anything and everything except games... Direct 2 Drive will let me pay for and download SOME games, but apparently not this one.
The funny thing is that a lot of the Korean versions include the full original English install option, but some don't so I would love to know what Im going to be getting myself into on November 3rd, I'd hate to be all excited and install it only to realize, that while I can enjoy the cutscenes, I can't decipher the quest log and what-have-you.

I know about the MMO problems, but since this isn't an MMO I had hoped...

On the other side of this coin, your thirst to understand what the characters are saying might help you learn a bit of Korean. A great game and a free Rosetta Stone. Good deal.

All of the voices are in English, I've seen the Korean version videos, they just have Korean substitles, My Korean is pretty good for day-to-day conversational stuff, for example I know "strong" but not "strength", and "necklace" but not "amulet"(I think they might be the same) but I think the big disconnect will be that while I could talk about recent movies that I've enjoyed in Korean, Dwarven politics is sure to give me headache, and if you cant enjoy the game fully the way it's meant to be played, arent' you really missing the point?

Don't you have relatives here who can gift you via Steam, Impulse, etc?

I'm not sure how the gifting would work as the reason I can't actually install the game from any of those places because of my IP address, D2D will let me buy the game, just not install it for myself, for example if I were to gift it to someone, It looks like I'll have to do the Amazon dead drop, where I order it and have it shipped to my brothers house, then have him repackage it and send it to me, I hate doing this as it wastes time and extra shipping money, and I would feel stupid if the Korean version that they will sell at my local shop has English on it and I just didn't know it.

You could always use an American proxy server to trick D2D into thinking you're in the US. I live in New Zealand and have used this method to buy Fallout 3 and download it before it was released here.

I only had to use the proxy for the web site side of things, for the actual downloading it didn't matter.

I wouldn't trust any free proxy server and I'm not going to pay to use a VPN, but the good news is that from what I've read on some Korean blogger sites, the game will most likely feature English.
