What bothers me the most, is that the demo has loads of audi files from this squadmate. It's clearly content that has been cut, just so that it can be sold as DLC on day-1. 

This I agree with.  

Zaeed and Kasumi were perfectly justified.  Zaeed was done to discourage resales even though he was done for release and he was free to all new copies.  Kasumi wasn't ready for the release date.

Prothy is a straight up money grab.  Its unashamed, unabashed greed.  I have no problem with any of ME2's DLC, not even the weapon or outfit packs.  But this "From Ashes" pack is disgraceful.  There's no logical argument that anyone at BioWare can make to have this sounds fair.  

And they can't pull the "he wasn't ready before we went gold" argument because the leaked advertisement showed that he was always planned for day 1 DLC.  Its shameful.

Before I say anything let me be very clear that I love and respect Bioware. To say I am a fan of their work would be an understatement. As such, I have become increasingly disappointed at their seeming LACK of content security. It has been one leak after another. One incredible blunder after another and they seemed to have learned NOTHING from these experiences. Honestly, if this trend continues I am REALLY concerned about what might happen for them. Across an entire galaxy, there is the possiblity of at least 1 surviving, but it was a long time ago. Perhaps in a freeze chamber? I dunno, I hope they give a good explanation too.

All the chambers were turned off by the Vigil (ME1, remeber?) I think they are going to clone this one form some DNA remains.

Yes, I remember, but surely they lived on more than one world? A secret bunker with a surviving Prothean NINJA!

How so? Ilos already showed that with enough power, the Prothean were capable of freezing themselves for unlimited amount of time.

Yet Vigil was forced to deactivate a lot of stasis pods because he / she / it was running out of power. And when the Reapers had left, only a dozen Protheans were left... after having been in stasis for I don't know how long. That's not enough to repopulate.

Well, it's either that or I didn't pay much attention in ME. 

If Prothy was put in stasis, then why only him? What makes him special?

P.S.: I never read the leaked script, wanted to avoid as much spoilers as possible.

I didn't read the leak either so this is speculation, but they never said that only those 12, or however many, were the only to survive. Maybe more did. And Vigil had to cut power to keep him self active correct? (i have a ps3 so didn't get to play me1) there could be another place like Ilos only with more reserve power, or solar power possibly? As I said this is just speculation on my part

Ugh, so what people have been saying is true then. I feel sorry for those who didn't pre-order the CE. They'll have to pay $60 for the game & $10 for the DLC, roughly add up to around $70 or more including tax. With that in mind, the CE only cost $80 for all its content. See something wrong with that picture?

Seriously, WHY THE ****, is such a major thing as a live Prothean a piece of DLC? Are you actually trying to make people hate you as much as possible at this point, Bioware?

Because they are a company and while they do try to appeal and make their customers happy, the bottom line is they produce games we enjoy to make money.  Would you be happy if instead they made the most minor boring character a dlc or the one you would be very interested in getting?....  Well they kind of did that with Zaeed.

Zaeed was free with every new copy of the game. This guy only comes free with the CE (which is way more expensive anyways), a version of the game that most people will not buy/be able to get. There's a very fine line between making money and being a dick to your customers. 

Honestly, they could've just left prothy out and nobody was going to not buy the game.  Its not like its incomplete.  In fact adding a new character costs MONEY.  Voice actors and additional time adding him to the game especially in a game like this where he has to interact a lot and characters have to interact with him.  I doubt that if they couldn't have added prothy as a dlc character they wouldn't have put the time and money into creating him.  In fact dlc creates extra incentives for companys to add more content (I will concede that it also creates incentives to take some out to sell).  Its not being a dick, you just don't want to pay $10 bottom line.

It's interesting to read speculation months after the storyline has been leaked.

I bet for someone who read the script it must be. I have avoided it thus far and shall continue to do so.

I got to admit though, it must be nice when you see theories like mine and think "I know something you don't know." or something like "Wow, that was on the money, but I am nice and won't spoil"

They are including Prothy as a perk to those that purchased the collector's edition. It is fair that the collector's edition to have content that the standard doesn't. But if Prothy turns out to be a vital part of the game then, and only then, is it wrong. But If he/she isn't in the game then he/she probably isn't vital to the game. They probably just give more insight to the race, nothing vital.

I already had changed my comment on that before already.

The explanation that was given on how the Protheans on Ilos survived the Reaper attack was valid enough for me. I believed it was a good explanation.
I hope Prothy gets a similar explanation.
