What I want to know is how something as important as a Prothean is not in the main game?
Meh, it'll still probably be great! Looks cool as well
That is the 65 million dollar question.

Does he have any impact on the main game?GnusmasTHX wrote...

I didn't look at the size. But from what I heard he/she isnt half-assed like zaeed and kasumi. Maybe thats why its bigger? But the fact still remain that they most likely doesn't offer anything absolutley vital to the game. If they do then it is wrong@Starkiller by significant i mean its a huge dlc, 600mb. thats not a simple weapon pack or armor.
He has a lot of dialog.
But nothing absolutely vital correct? Just more insight to things, im assuming.GnusmasTHX wrote...

Since it's day one DLC is there a chance some files are in the game itself?SKiLLYWiLLY2 wrote...
600mb isn't that big tbh. Arrival is 880mb, kasumi 900-something, and zaeed about 500mb.

The DLC squadmate has no influence on the plot whatsoever, his main function/selling point is first hand exposition and dialog.
Your game isn't ruined because you don't get him. You're missing a cool squadmate and a lot of lines.
You could say that about every squadmate in ME 2 (especially Legion). We really only needed Miranda, Jacob, Mordin, and one or two others. Just because they can make something DLC and charge another $10 doesn't mean they should, again, especially if this is something that was taken out of the game in the first place.
And to those saying "well it was supposed to be part of the CE..." please. If that was their thought process behind it, then they would have been marketing that like crazy.
Now as far as spoilers go, there were several in here I was trying to avoid but were posted anyway, namely the amount of squadmates we'll have and a certain someone I never would have expected. Thanks for that.
Not really. All those characters had specific quests on top of simply the one they were acquired in.
So did Zaeed and Kasumi, but they were still DLC.

He has a lot of dialog.
Surely bringing him to the Citadel would cause something interesting.
But then again I brought Legion there

Since this is confirmed, my not buying this game on release is also confirmed. A shame.

My not caring about your purchase intent is now confirmed by your confirmation.
Well, considering he is DLC, then the game would have to be built in mind that he would not be there. Here is some of his dialogue to show that I think he will just provide advice to you and the other races about what happened to his race during their cycle. May contain very minor spoilers but not really...Justicar wrote...

What? Zaeed and Kasumi all have an impact on the Suicide Mission and their specific storylines have continuations in the third game. I'm saying that having the DLC won't affect the outcome of ME3 beyond the Galaxy at War/Readiness number crunching.
There is no plot thread where the squadmate gets some device for you to defeat the Reapers, or anything like that.
