My respect for Bioware dwindles. If it was just another human like Kasumi I wouldn't even care, but it's a freaking prothean! How could they charge extra for something so important!?
So, a living member whos species was very technologically advanced and who is from the previous cycle is not important? Nah I guess Shepard doesn't need him right? What would he know?

Will this Prothean character be like Kasumi and Zaeed in terms of conversation, just little quips that you stand there and listen to? Or do you get to interact with it in the same fashion that you would every other squad mate?
From what I've read, he has a lot more dialogue than Kasumi and Zaeed, not only on the Normandy, but in some of th hub worlds (like the Citadel).
I think it'll be like the other ME3 squadmates in term of dialogues.

The one prothean does not represent any of that. The Prothean race as a whole does. The many scientist that developed that tech do. Not one person. Think of this in terms of humans. If we were all destroyed and another race was studing our culture and civilization. Then found out that one human was left alive. Do you think that one human would be able to convey great works in human history, from our great technelogical break throughs? No, they wouldn't. I know this is a terrible example but think of Fry from Futurama, if the one human to survive was like Fry would it make a huge impact that he was still alive? No it wouldn't.Eterna5 wrote...

I don't think it's a retcon. The statues on Ilos I believe were of the species who came before the Protheans, either the Arthenn or the Inusannon for example who the protheans revered as we do them.

The Protheans no doubt had records of their genome, especially if they were exploring genetic engineering. The technology in Beacons could be used as the basis for an imprinting method. From that, there's one plausible explanation for having a Prothean, and that'd be a clone imprinted with a copy of a long-dead Prothean's memories. But more likely it'll end up being magic chronostasis field handwaving or some such.Eterna5 wrote...

So you have confirmation that he is a scientist or engineer? Please do share a source. This works both ways. And sure they were more advanced but that is my point. The race was more advanced yes, But this one Prothean is just a single person of an entire race. Do we not have humans that can barely understand the things our scientists do? Do we not have humans that couldn't tell you anything what-so-ever about our technology? Why are the Protheans any different? Just because they are more advanced does not mean that every single person in that race knows everything about said race, be it science, technology, or anything else between.Eterna5 wrote...
