I was just informing about the rumors. Although I know many will disagree with me. But as long as he is NOT important to the main plot of the game, Then I fully support him being free to the collectors edition and not for the standard edition. Simply because the collectors edition deserves to have more content because we are paying more for it. And if they feel like it then they can make it available for additional purchase to everyone else if they want. Now if he is important and he is not in the game at all unless you buy the dlc, then I think it is wrong.riddick 116 wrote...

CE/DDE owners get it free, everyone else can buy it - it's not limited.

ummmm you could be right his audio dialogue was found in the demo along with another secret squadmate. Why would bioware put in his dialoge in the demo if he was just DLC.....I mean yes kasumi dialogue was also in the ME2 but ummm idknevar00 wrote...

Edit to add: Frankly, I'm just happy to have someone that doesn't have an American accent for a change. Tali has nice accent, but it comes and goes.
If I am buying a collectors edition I excpet exclusive content. If that exclusive content is not important to the main plot of the game. Whether it be a few extra missions or a squadmate. But when it is important to the game and they blantantly cut it from the standard game and it has a MAJOR impact then is when it is wrong. But this is my opinion about collectors editions of games. @Starkiller no we pay more for the extra goodies not extra content. thats the whole point of CE is to get extra stuff like metal case and physical objects. I personally dont mind an exclusive gun or armor but a whole character squadmate and mission is too far.

That exactly my point. As long as they are not vital than i see it as ok. But when they do it to vita characters with a major impact is when it would be wrong. I stated earlier that I'm assuming (i didn't read the leak) that he just provides some extra insight to things. A fair point Starkiller and I would actually support the complaints if the Prothean WAS integral to the plot - but that can't be the case. Designing a DLC that makes the main plot "Less so" unless purchased would cause so much legitimate rage I don't think Bioware would survive it. The Prothean is likely very similar to Shale - who could influence and add alot of cool extras to the main plots and missions, but the entire game did not suffer for a lack of that character - or more importantly, the main plot of the game is perfectly fine w/o him present.

Imo, it would be much worse. If they did that it would leave all doubt that he was already in the game—a planned character and they're just charging people to get his full experience, hence the full experience of the game. It would be different if they planned him as DLC only and his part isn't integrated. To have him as an established character already in the game and having people pay money to get the full experience feels.... unethical. I can understand why people would be angry were that the case.
Personally, I don't care. I got the CE. I have him regardless. It's always good to try to understand the opposing side's point. I certainly understand it, even if I don't agree with it. Also, I know it is just an unconfirmed rumor.

Because that would mean that the fact there is a living Prothean isn't just stuck on DLC? It's kind of a huge deal which is why I was angry at Bioware shoving what should be on the disc on a DLC and charging an extra $10 for something they removed, but if he's in the game regardless... how does that make it worse?
