Really feel like this is a strong over reaction to such a simple thing, I'm personally just psyched to get back into the ME universe.

People have known all along that the CE was going to include an bonus squad member and mission. People who bought the CE paid an extra $20 for it, now those who didn't can purchase the main draw of the CE for only $10. And there is a blow up on the forums?!!!! Simply amazing.

Perhaps I should have made it a little clearer - I was referring to CynicalBrit's youtube video, where to be fair, banging on about what stuff should be included for 20 minutes could quite accurately described as 'obsessed' in colloquial speech.

Thats the hyperbole part. You're not 'enabling the entire behaviour' purely by deciding to treat oneself to a game they've been waiting for. I've had my CE preorder set and paid for before I even knew about any of this, as mnay other players have. The vast majority of us gamers work hard for our salaries and frankly, making some kind of big moral stand about computer games simply isn't very high up on our prioty lists. At the end of the day, its just a luxury product, the same way that cinema tickets and restaurant meals are, and they've gone up in price in the same way.

It can, you just have to buy the game new and buy at least the limited editions.
There are regular editions that have dlc stuff in them, but not many, the games where you need an online pass will have it in all versions, as long as it`s not bought used.

That's not hyperbole at all. By paying for a product, you're condoning the business practice that created that product. It doesn't get any simpler than that.

Of course, if you don't have any problem with EA's business direction, then this isn't really a problem at all. But if you do, and you buy it anyway, you're shooting yourself in the foot. EA does this because they can get away with it. That's the only reason. By buying it, you encourage them to do so.

I expect the game I pay $60 for to be intact, and to not have to pay extra money for something that SHOULD ALREADY BE IN THE GAME, but has instead been ripped out to make a profit.

Of course you're enabling the behavior by feeding them money. See, this is another issue. Gamers inherent inability to take any form of responsibility for their own actions, blaming it all on outside influences when it's a consumer driven industry. Why do you think games are swamped in DLC by now? Because it SELLS. We're not victims here. We're enablers.

And I've done plenty enabling myself. I bought Dragon Age II after all. But enough is enough.

I would guarantee you that the overwhelming majority of people bought the CE for the extra missions and not the postcard sized artbook and soundtrack.

Its not but it could be... if the story  is true that this DLC  is was done way in advance of the release  then yes. They have every right to be outraged  especially with this being  A  Prothean  character - the race that essentailly the whole series built around and this is DLC.    Another fact that mind boggling is that  a character that is this  important is being regulated to  sideline DLC  spot and   a Self-Insert a fan/reporter gets a spot  Hell, I have been pretty light my  in criticizing Bioware over  ME  but hell even that makes scratch my head.

As one who has pre-ordered the CE, I'd be happy to see the prothean DLC given for free, perhaps it might bring my confidence back to purchase future games from EA/Bioware, as it stands this will be my last purchase, it's an unnacceptable practice, I'm too weak to boycott as I want to finish out the trilogy and that's exactly what EA/Bioware are playing on.
