You know what page it's on? Cause I must have missed it.

Naw, I don't remember, lol. But basically I was just saying that as far as I was aware the multiplayer DLC was the same as the packs you get in-game, so I wasn't arguing that multiplayer DLC wasn't 'part of the game' but rather, that those figurine DLC codes gave you a couple of things for free that you routinely unlock by playing multiplayer anyway. (They're the Recruit Packs you also get from the facebook stuff -- just a slightly altered probability of commons, uncommons and rares than you see in the in-game currency stuff.)

This is one of the perks for buying the CE edition. If I was stuck with the Standard addition and I had no way of getting the extra character I would be really ticked off. Yes they are making you pay for something that is standard in the CE edition, it is one of the things that makes the CE edition a CE edition. Bioware has mentioned this months in advance. They actually made it worth it for people to get the CE.

I am usually someone who hates day one DLC even if it is free. I support what Bioware has done with this and it is not blind fanboy tactics. They actually made the CE edition worth something. Seriously just be happy that you are being given the option to get a CE bonus. I mean right now no one is complaining that people who get the CE edition are also getting more weapons that the standard edition is not, they are getting the art book, an N7 patch... I mean the company is out to make money and sure this is doing it, but they did say what was going on from the start.

If I as a consumer paid for the collectors edition and the standard edition consumers got what I paid extra for I would be asking for my money back on the collectors addition. Right now there is nothing wrong with what Bioware is doing with the release of the DLC. You have to pay for it just like I did.

Just dropped by to say I cancelled my preorder as of 5 minutes ago. I'm willing to give early adopter amounts of money and you repay me by wanting me to give you MORE money? And you wonder why people hate EA. But it's ok because we all know there are certain sites that will offer the DLC for free. As well as the game. And all future DLC.

I really am sorry for the art teams and coding teams because I know this is none of their fault and they were just doing their jobs. But my money will not be going to someone who is trying to extort extra money out of me just because they think they know me or my mentality as a gamer. Enjoy the ensuing ****storm.

I am dying to play this game, but am about to follow suit and cancel my pre-order as well. I'll Gamefly it, enjoy the single player and move on.

I'd be more upset if I weren't in the Bing rewards program...

Microsoft gives you MS Points in exchange for searching enough times on their site, Bing.

They call it the Bing Rewards program... and I fully intend to use those points for this...

I like how everyone believes the Prothean is vital to the story. I would like to straighten this out and say that that the RACE is important to the story. For all you idiots know he could have been on the ass end of society and accidentally froze himself and then Shepard finds it. I'm sure a dlc character won't be too vital especially if you have to pay for it and it's just supposed to be some closure for those of us who have been here since ME1 and want to know a little more about the Protheans.

I am an ardent ME fan and I will still buy the CE...but even I find this idea bad business.

I support giving out to everyone who buys it new free; I didn't buy the CE for the Prothean.

Hear, hear.

Repeating so people will see even ardent "BioDrones" think this is a bad idea.

I want more people to enjoy this great series...not less.

I'm also repeating it, as one who has pre-ordered the CE, I'm calling for EA/Bioware to give the DLC freely to those who pre-ordered the standard edition, at least for me this would increase my confidence in purchasing future games.

Except you do, actually, need a stearing wheel.

Its like buying a car without the leather seats, or the upgraded sound system, or whatever- you know, the way people actually DO buy cars.

Fact is a day 1 DLC and an important part of the story, that is not available for free to all PREORDERS, cannot be justified. Period. It. cannot. be. justified.

Actually I posted a justifying argument quite a few pages back, and no-one has decided to respond to it.

Basically they either start raising the prices of their games or stop making their games bigger.

Your argument means nothing when you have no data of sales figures, the budget for this game, and the funding they recieved from EA, Microsoft and their other marketing partners other than "this game is big, so they probably have to price it more to make up for this big cost"

Of course I don't have the numbers, which is why I posted ancillery evidence to illustrate that point. For example we don't need to know the sales figures of ME1 and ME2 and etc to know that ME2 had a bigger budget, and that ME3 has again a bigger budget. We also don't need to know any numbers to see that Activision charges $70 for Call of Duty, Blizzard charges $70 for their games... etc. We also don't need to know ME3's budget to know that, overall, budgets are increasing.

Besides it comes down to: Mass Effect 3 is a bigger game then previous ones. Even if Microsoft, or whoever, makes investments on it, they need to see a return on that investment.

Could they stay at $60? Sure, but it wouldn't equal the same rate of growth- and I said that exactly, this is the stance of, for example, the Witcher series, which runs on a much smaller budget.

My point is that, they want to increase the budget of their games, and to do so, they must charge more. This is not un-ethical, I will pay mroe for bigger games, and if you don't agree then don't buy the DLC.

What country do you live in that CoD costs $70 and Blizzard games cost $70?

You're ignoring the fact that this game has a much higher number of pre-orders as well, and will likely have bigger sales than the previous 2 games. The sales of this game will be in the millions, do you really think they're not going to profit off of this?

I know I will committ. Do I expect anyone else to committ? No, but it sure would be nice if gamers took a stance for once and told publishers that this just isn't acceptable. As consumers and fans it's our responsibility to safeguard this medium.

You should expect that others are comitted too. Even if I'm gonna end up as a good laugh for €A, biodrones and other watchdogs, I won't buy ME3.

To the many here, who are writing "it' a shame, but I'll buy it", or "how immoral, but I want to see how it ends", or "this one and then never ever another one from BW/€A", and the many other sorry excuses, I say, draw the line right now and cancel if you preordered, if not don't buy it on the 6th !

Augh everyone just keeps repeating themselves and not actually responding to anything

I see why people make fun of internet arguments now.

I repeat my point then: If they had just raised the price to $70 would you still be angry?

Edit: Also, please justify how a game selling at $70 COULD NOT mean that future games will have a bigger budget...? Especially considering how many franchises have gone that route.

Augh then let me ask you

is an extra character and mission justifiable to charge consumers 1/6th of the price of a 40-50 hour game?

is buying the game NEW at $60 and Bioware/EA wanting to charge us MORE to get the FULL experience remotely justifiable?

Yeah, I'd say it's more like paying $20 on gas and only getting 4 gallons (still a bad comparison but ooh well).

I assume you will never buy a car then, since you have to pay extra for options that were clearly completed at the same time as the car.

If you believe that to be true then you're a fool. I am blown away by anyone able to support this. This is a black and white instance of right vs wrong. This is wrong, clearly...there is simply no other logical choice. They are leaving out a huge piece of launch content to make addition money.

Anyone who supports that...how can you support that?!?!? I just don't understand

The awkward moment when it becomes free to everyone who buys the game new...
AND THE PROTHEAN IS THE MOST RETARDED SQUAD MATE EVER.
I'd full on lol if that happened.

If it gets people upset enough that they won't buy the game, then it's obviously bad business. And there are a lot of upset people right now.

right, there are people up in arms....but not enough, most likely....nobody that preordered the CE cares much (most likely unless it's the principle)....people like me that only have enough time to play a few titles, so when there's one we like we're getting it come hell or high water....people that have mom n dad still buying them games and do a foot stop and roll on the floor....I NEED PROTHY!!!!.....

also not to be too sympathetic to bioware, but if they give this free to everybody, then people that paid the extra for the CE will be upset, no win basically but to put it on the game day 1.....they very well may have ran the numbers and said, we need to do this to get to our profit goal, etc....

Here's a better idea. Keep your pre-order, and wait till someone confirms/denys the Prothean's importance to the story line. THEN decide whether you're going to get the game.

People complained about the multiplayer being pointless and a waste of resources...

Then they tried it and oh MAN, it's FUN.

You're leaping before looking.
