Seriously so much complaining about stupid DLC! It's not a big deal. There is so much exageration here it's unbelievable!

You can't say the Prothean should be in the game from the start. There is nothing wrong with day 1 DLC because in the end it's all optional content.. I'd rather BioWare allow me to purchase it day 1 rather then day 30.. I don't get why some people just can't grasp the word "optional".

Many people have no idea how much of an impact this DLC will have on the game... and lets me honnest.. it's DLC so that means not much. Prothean basically = Kasumi released day 1.

Also, for people saying "Well why not take more out of the game!? What do we really pay 60$ for?" You pay 60$ for Mass Effect 3. The game, because the rest is ADD ONS! Mass Effect 3 is fully enjoyable and completable WITHOUT them. And don't say "Well why not take more out of the game and charge it as DLC" This is one of the dumbest things ever, and not an valid excuse/argument. They won't take anything out because everything that is there is needed and it's what is most important to the game. The rest they sell as extra DLC because its really NOT NEEDED.

Also, many people (myself included) are getting the N7 edition.. we're paying extra for it and it comes with this DLC. So don't act like you have to pay extra while other people get it free. Everyone is paying for it.. when I saw the N7 edition video that said "Spoiler DLC squadmate" I bought it.. I paid extra for an extra character... I didn't complain.

I love how when BioWare says "ME3 N7 CE will include bonus spoiler DLC character"
everyone goes "Yay!! Awesome.. let's buy the CE!" I saw no complaining. But then when BioWare says "Good news! For those who didn't get the N7 CE, where doing you a favor by releasing the bonus DLC character as DLC so you can purchase it too if you please!"  then everyone goes "Wait WTF!! F*** you BioWare!! Day 1 DLC!!?? You guys suck! Pre order canceled!!"

I mean really for the last time ITS OPTIONAL CONTENT THAT IS NOT REQUIRE TO COMPLETE AND ENJOY MASS EFFECT 3!!!


It's no different then to buy a DVD.. or pay a little extra to get the Special Edition that includes a "SPECIAL FEATURES" disc.

... or buying a product that says "batteries not included" (actually this is worse because you can't use the product without paying more for batteries)

.... or buying a printer that doesn't come with ink, or a printer cable.

.... buying a computer that doesn't come with an anti-virus, only a trial (the computer is still fully usable only you might want an anti-virus.. if you do, buy one)
 
.... buying a camera that doesn't come with an SD card

I work in a retail store so I can name you lots... this isn't any different.. so stop complaining.. Buy it, or don't. It doesn't have to complicated.

I didn't know about it till I watched the video. I am a person who assumes that I will get everything in the GAME when I buy a standered edition of a game, and the collectors ediition is for maybe a reskined weapon, books,music etc

Bioware PLEASE change this. I have been a loyal customer ever since i played KOTR (what i consider the greatest game ever). Ever since then i have bought all of your games. I even play SWTOR and enjoy it a lot (level 50 commando doing HM OPS currently). But i just can believe that you guys would take away so much from fans just to make an extra buck. What are the people that are saving money from pay checks just to get this game going to do when they have to fork up an extra 10/20 dollars? Your games offer such incredible stories that they are almost an escape from reality for a brief period of time. Do not do this to us... Sorry to say but i have cancelled my preorder on amazon.

People saying that its no big deal...It's a Prothean, of course its a big deal to have him.

If they were like oh ok, $10 to add Jacob to the party id be like i dun give a ****, but a prothean?

Our technology isnt actualy based on theirs though, its based on the Reapers technology just like theirs was. The Protheans are not the central core element of the mythos the Reapers are. They are an interesting side element, they are not the omg wtf nothing makes sense without this catalyst for the series. The entire race could easily be removed from existance and it would require only 1 or 2 major plot changes and several minor ones to make the entire overall plot of the seires still completely valid.

Your logic is flawed, no one even knows the reapers exist. Everyone things its prothean technology. So finding a living Prothean is a huge deal

I'm going to repeat what others have said, if you are someone like us who have pre-ordered the CE, then support the prothean DLC be given free to those who pre-ordered the SE.

I pre-ordered the CE so that I could get all the goodies.  And the "exclusive" (past-tense anyway) squad-member was a part of that package deal.  Making him free to everyone who gets the game new invalidates a signifcant portion of the reason I pre-ordered the CE.

So no, I'm not in support of this.  He's not relevant to the plot, nor is he vital to anyone's experience.  I'm essentially paying to have him by virtue of the added cost for the CE, saying everyone else should just get a hand-out is insulting.

And I apologize if that sounds elitst or rude, but it's my stance.  I'm paying $15+ for a bunch of extra goodies, which includes the squaddie.  Everyone else can afford to shell out a bit of cash too.

that's the catch....it's added content, that some folks paid for already with the CE....so what is bioware to do for them? give em 10 bucks back?

That is not the point, this is a prothean, possibly the last of it's kind, it's ingrained in the lore, you and I know that EA/Bioware deliberatly went out of their way to seperate it from the game knowing full well people will pay to have a lore character, but hey, let's make them all DLC, Ashley, Kaidan, Garrus, Tali, and so on, that's good business practice no?

Because he's DLC.  His dialog only ever gives flavor text that gives out interesting tidbits about galactic culture, but otherwise is NOT RELEVANT TO STOPPING THE REAPERS

Unless Bioware recreates the Suicide Mission, he doesn't add anything significant.

The real Irony is that anyone on this forum expects Bioware to pay attention to anything that's said here or take any of it seriously with how terrible this community is to start with in terms of people constantly creating 50 threads about how the game sucks or they are canceling their pre-order.

Just because he's in the lore doesn't make him important to the plot.

The Art book and the soundtrack cover the extra price in the CE as well as the Normandy picture and N7 patch.

No your benifit should hinder the SE story it should only be cosmetic, gun, armor, artbook, or statue of the Normandy you name it.
