I didn't know about it till I watched the video. I am a person who assumes that I will get everything in the GAME when I buy a standered edition of a game, and the collectors ediition is for maybe a reskined weapon, books,music etc

What's your point, had I known that it was ahead of time I wouldn't have even preorderd it.

Lets do some math here.

• Premium metal case featuring male and female Commander Shepard
• 70-page hardbound art book
• Limited edition Mass Effect comic by Dark Horse Comics
• Fabric N7 patch.
• Exclusive 4x6 lithographic print of the SR-2 Alliance Normandy
• Additional in-game content including
• N7 Arsenal Pack - Bring the firepower with the N7 Sniper Rifle, Shotgun, SMG, and Pistol.
• Squad alternate appearance pack
• Robotic Dog for on board the Normandy
• Mass Effect 3 digital soundtrack.
• Plus the pre-order bonuses of where ever you got it from.
• Also the DLC

So if you subtract that 10 bucks that I will have to pay from your 79.99 you get 69.99 plus you get all this stuff because you were quicker than I was you are only paying 10 bucks more for all this stuff which is well over a $20 value.

So you are essentially getting the DLC for free that actually has in game content, because you were the lucky few that got a collectors edition, and since you said this was all planned well in advance its safe to say that it was cut or just choosen to be not added for a lucky few that are already getting more than they should for the money.

The fact is they can cut ANYTHING and claim it's "additional content", which is why this need to be stopped.  Now.

Everything completed before release should be included in the game.  

I never understood this argument.  Yes, the possibility does exist that a company could cut ANYTHING and call it "additional content".

But just because the potential exists doesn't mean it'll be exploited.  So far, at least with Bioware, this has NEVER been the case.

My post pretty much mirrors this.  I am a huge RPG fan. I live in Edmonton, I used to see the Bioware guys playing D&D upstairs in White Knight.  I've loved Bioware games since Baldurs Gate.  I made this account specifically because, as much as it pains me to do this (and it does, since I've been looking forward to this game since the second I finished ME2) I'm going to have to cancel my pre-ordered CE. 

You guys can't sell incomplete games to people.  The coding/development has already been done for the character.  This is not a cosmetic thing, not a nice little addon that some people won't care about not having.  It's a goddamn prothean.  Not including him is akin to extortion, and its not acceptable business practice.  Fix this or lose my business Bioware.

Again with the incomplete games crap without any support to your argument that the game is incomplete without this DLC. You all sound like children, if you have complaints with day 1 DLC thats fine. Its perfectly understandable that some people have issues against the business concept of it. However arguing that this particular DLC is special and makes the game Incomplete when you have never played the game or the DLC, and have no clue what it even adds to the game or takes away from it by not being there just makes you look foolish.

No. They don't deserve it. I pre-ordered about 8 months ago for the exclusive character and mission and I would like it if these mouth breathing cry-babies got over themselves and paid for like they should.

Collectors edition owners are better and deserve MORE than the casual scrubs.

Prothy was intended to be in the CE as a downloadable character and squaddie, as part of the goodies we paid extra for. He's an extra. I wouldn't have ponied up for the CE for a bunch of little cosmetic things or guns, that would make for a seriously lame CE, don't you think?

If Prothy is extortion, then LotSB and Arrival are, as well. (Though that's a different argument for a different day) At least those two pieces of DLC are plot-critical.

This is damn ridiculous, I saved up money for this game, 40 euros - that's what it costs in my country, I finally got the money and I pre-ordered the game today from a local store, and now I read that a Prothean squadmate will be in the game? awesome! I can't wait to see that - wait, it's a DLC, that costs 10 dollars????

Now that made me angry, very angry, I am a big fan of the Mass Effect, it's my favourite video game series. I bought all of the DLC except Kasumi for ME2, but right now I don't have that spare money and I just finished saving up for the game itself. I know that this DLC is optional and I can play without it, but come on - IT'S A FREAKING PROTHEAN! I can't pass up that kind of opportunity.

So yeah, I am very disappointed and I really hope that Bioware understands at one point that this is wrong, and they either make it a free DLC or lower the price. Please Bioware, I love this game series, I have bought every game in the series - I bought a bunch of dlc for Mass Effect 2, it wouldn't hurt you to be kind to the people that have helped this series reach the fame that it has right now.

Which kind of makes it worse. I had no idea about this until today as i've been purposely avoiding anything ME related for months.

If you go to the Origin store and look at the DD edition it says nothing about an additional squadmate...

Lot's of people are going to fire up their game on launch day, and be presented with a choice of a prothean squadmate for $10 and then the ****'s really going to hit the fan, I guarantee it.

you also have no proof that hes any more relevant to the plot of the game than Zaeed was so yes he could very well be Zaeed.
