Officially it's because the PC version was designed to work perfectly with mouse and keyboard, which is horse crap because they don't even support menu shortcuts. In ME2 almost all controller settings were in the files except for the radial interface. Gameplay with a controller worked just like on Xbox 360 after a few tweaks. I assume it will be similar in ME3.

I hope it's similar because I'm replaying ME2 for about the 4th time only this time I'm using my 360 conroller using the coalesced.ini modification. Game is awesome with the controller!

Aren't first person shooters designed to work perfectly with a mouse and keyboard? Yet many major releases still support the 360 controller. Heck, even Crysis natively supports it and it's a 4 year old game!
