The topic.
I have been focusing on power and just trying out a turian  sentienal. So couldnt really tell the difference and they are the same length in game, with no perks giving either a damage boost.
Just wanna know if any of you notice any difference?

I haven't used the Tempest, but even if they deal the same damage doesn't the Avenger have a significant range advantage? And spread, too?

to me the Avenger has the worse spread. perhaps better at range but need to control recoil?

Avenger is less reliable for potshots, but long-term engagements you can put more bullets downrange and expect them to hit than with the tempest. In close, its the tempest that'll score the kill quicker, but that recoil jumps up on you, and the muzzle climb doesn't help the case for long range fire.

I'd still go for the Avenger over the tempest at long range, or short range, at that.

They are both pretty terrible guns tbh, but at least the avenger is relatively accurate

You obviously don't know how to use the avenger properly.

the avenger seems to do way more damage at all ranges for me. both X class.even without damage amplifiers. However SMG`s are lighter.

Avenger can weigh nothing if you wield it solo and have a high enough version of it.

thats what I do with my turian sent. just one avenger and maxed chain overload and I shoot nonstop. so I get pretty close to my enemies walk in there and rip things apart. and for that I need a good med-close range gun. I have the tempest at max too and that thing's bullet just runs endless. so if they do the same damage I'll def op in the tempest...

I see a lot of people running around with the mattock but that gun just didn't seem as good to me as the avenger.

I haven't tried the ME3 tempest but if it still has the same recoil issues of the ME2 tempest, then it sucks.

Mattocks ace if you get enough upgrades and can land headshots.

It is the recoil. The Tempest jumps up more.
With the Avenger I can land a decent amount of headshots, the Tempest is harder to control. Short bursts are the way to go.

I like the Locust w/ extended mag -
Also if i single carry it with an INF. the time taken to unload a clip is exactly the time needed to re cloak

Trick to the Avenger is to tap the trigger in a series of quick 2-3 shot bursts. Do it quickly so its almost rapidfire. The 1st couple rounds in each burst dont spread as much as later ones, so when you stutter fire it, its very accurate. You'll do more damage at range than just holding the trigger down

I go Tempest and Predator. My pistol has a scope which makes it decent for my long range needs and my SMG handles toughs pesky Phantoms. the weight on the both of them is more then having just the Advenger, but on my FemSentinal, my recharge time is still 150%, more then enough to span the throw button ;)

the avenger > the tempest.

the avenger equipped with a stabiltiy dampener and an extended clip makes it a far more usefull and reliable weapon than the tempest. it also reloads quicker and is more accurate. as has been said the avenger is less effective at close range, but for mid to long range combat it is amazing. end of dicussion there.

I switched from Phalanx to Avenger on my Engineer and I'm never going back.  It's a great gun.
