Hello everyone,

I'm a big Mass Effect fan. I finished the first game on Xbox, the second on PC and again on PS3. Now that Mass Effect 3 is only two weeks away, I'm working on finishing Mass Effect 2 on Xbox so that I can import my data into Mass Effect 3. However, I no longer have a copy of the first game handy. I didn't think this was an issue due to Mass Effect: Genesis being available on the Xbox Live Marketplace. I bought it, made my decisions and went about playing Mass Effect 2. Recently, however, I spoke with Mordin and he made a reference to Kirrahe being dead. I don't recall making that decision in either the first game or the interactive comic though it has been a while since I played the original Mass Effect. I've heard that if he survived the first game, Kirrahe shows up in Mass Effect 3.

My question is this: in order to prevent anyone from dying and subsequently not appearing in the third game, do I need to play the entire trilogy from the beginning? What is the "default" starting place for Mass Effect 3? If I don't import my save, is it just assumed that Kaidan and Wrex die on Virmire? Has there been any comments regarding what players who do not import a save can expect?

Thanks!

In the demo you can choose whether you saved Ash or Kaidan. In the full game you may be able to choose to save Wrex as well. Kirrahe is another thing though. If he's dead, IMO you aren't likely to be able to do anything about it.

What i would like to know is who replaces everyone - not just squad mates - who died in previous games. Like Kirrahe for example.

No one replaces Kirrahe, as far as I can tell. He's just not there. There is a replacement for Mordin if he's not there, and obviously there is Wreav.

I guess we'll just have to find out =( I'd really like to see Kirrahe, Wrex and Mordin in the "default" Mass Effect 3. I don't have time to play the entire trilogy again.

Having played the demo, I don't think you have anything to worry about. All three appear in it, without any import. It seems like the default new game for the final release is likely to be the same.

Thanks =) That'd be great. I can live without hearing them say "yeah, I remember you from..." or whatever.
