I think I know how Mass Effect 3 ends.

I think I know how Mass Effect 3 ends.

WARNING! DO NOT TREAT THE BELOW AS FACT! DOING SO COULD HAVE CONSEQUENCES!!

This is not a spoiler since I don't know if this actually happens.

Casey Hudson said that Mass Effect 3 will be the end of Shepard's story.

To me this means Comander Shepard will die (possibly sacrifice him/herself) at the end of Mass Effect 3 regardless of your actions throughout the trilogy. That is the one constant in all possible endings. Shepard's death is the only plot thread that ensures Shepard will not return to Mass Effect 3.





The only other explanation I can think of is that despite Shepard being very much alive at the end of Mass Effect 3, he will definitely be dead when Mass Effect 4 starts due to the game being set over a hundred years after the events of Mass Effect 3. Liara still very much alive and upset over Comander Shepard's death despite him dying at the age of 87.

Well Shepard died at the start of ME2 and they still came back....

Commander Shepard will most likely yet again sacrifice himself. That or the story will take a huge U-turn and take everybody by surprise.

I really don't see how it would be possible with any of the endings.

It will all either be multiplayer DLC or must be completed before you make the final leap.

While Mass Effect 3 is the latest chapter in the planned trilogy that focuses on Commander Shepard, BioWare has now hinted that fans of the series should probably keep their save game files for an eventual fourth installment. ?? Source http://news.softpedi...ys-250692.shtml

Who knows, maybe there are more than three possible endings... and we don't know anything specific about "that particular ending"... it could be anything or it's very opposite. We'll see soon enough...

I hope there's an ending in which he saves the galaxy yet has to sacrifice his life for whatever reason, I don't want my Shepard to live.

I think it will be something where if you don't earn every species's trust Shepard doesn't survive where as if you do he does. (Just a wild guess)

There is numerous fleet and army troops you will get from sidequest, past ME1/ME2 choice even ME1/ME2 DLC and mission giving you war asset. You need to have a high war asset score and a good galactic readiness to achieve the "max" ending as they call it. They're would be also 6 ending. Some thread about war asset / galactic readiness talk about it.

Yes he does. I got that ending in the demo. Yes I got the ending where Shepard dies.

It's called CRITICAL MISSION FAILURE. It happens a lot in Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3. Not to mention storywise he dies not once but potentially twice in Mass Effect 2. The only gaming protagonists who die more than Comander Shepard is created protagonists of Daemon Souls and Dark Souls.

Poor dumb schmuck.

That could be one of the many possible endings. As stated previously, they are multiple endings... even one where the Reapers win.

If there are six endings like someone above just said, I'm expecting 4 or 5 of them to end in Shepard dying somehow. I just feel like that's the way it has to happen.
