If you've been an RPG fan for a while I'd like you to think back to two Games with the Titles of Knights of the Old Republic, and Knights of the Old Republic: The Sith Lords. Both of these Games were brilliant in My arrogant Opinion, with the Former being considered the RPG of the Decade before Mass Effect, or any other Bioware RPG that came out after it. however despite this both games a flaw in them which could not be ignored; the Helmets/Visors/Head Gear were for the most part, ugly, and detracted from a characters look. So I'd like to know if Dragon Age Origins has a " Hide Helm" Feature which will enable our Characters to maintain their Bad ***-ness with out having to worry about if their head gear is awful. I'm not saying that all of the Helms will be awful, but lets face it when you work so hard designing a finely chiseled jaw for you character, you want the rest of the world to see it too, but you'd also like the stat bonus given to you by the Helm.

There is no 'helm toggle', but helmets do turn off automatically for cutscenes.

You could always hope for a future program update that will add a button that says hide/show helm.

The OP talks about how great some past RP games are..thus one would assume he's quite an avid RP'er...and then goes on to blow this whole image apart by wanting something that is not RP..
If you want to show your face..don't wear a helm..if you want the protection afforded by a helm..wear it..
I mean,in real life..and history..It is/was well known how many great heroes etc.had that hide helm button..
Ah Thermopylae must have looked a treat..all those Spartans with their long flowing locks...and yet..their invisible helms protected them..

I'm a fan of helms, but I'm glad they're turned off for most cut scenes.
But why is this thread in the spoiler forum?

How do we know you can't hide the helm? And personally I think your jaw sucks.

If there's no option to hide the helmets, they surely can be hidden by replacing their corresponding mesh-files with "empty ones", therefore rendering them invisible. There are several mods like this for both KotOR-games.

I liked the Helm in Kotor.I was tired at looking at my characters sith face.Besides most of the time i was looking at his back and the the lightsaber.

Your One to talk Dead Milkman....
I don't think what I'm asking for is too much in an RP, and your assuming a game with Mythical Dragons, Women who turn into spiders and Nugs is somehow Realistic? I thought that was the whole point?
Ever wonder why they lost? They Couldn't hear the persians sneaking up behind them. Why? Helmets covered their ears...

As if the indignity of being locked up with a bunch of drug addled lunatic fanatics as guards wasn't bad enough, just look at the kind of crap mages are forced to wear. And people wonder why they run amok turning into blob monsters and blowing up places of worship. Can anyone really blame them?
