I may by the dlc, I not going with the collectors edition. £70 for what? A cloth path and dlc? No thanks. But I really don't want to support this day one dlc bs but it's a damn prothean! Im still surprised they left something important like this out of the game, it just seems like a desperate cash grab.

Have you tried the MP? It's actually pretty fun.

Having a MP aspect doesn't mean a game *is* going to crappy. Hell, some of BioWare's finest had multiplayer. Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2, Neverwinter Nights...

Wow. You know there's a difference between trolling and simply pointing out an obvious money-grab. Day-one DLC  is a huge middle finger to gamers, I don't care what company does it. Nobody should get banned for pointing that out.

I'm getting the normal copy and I'll only get the DLC if it's under ten dollars.

A business exists to make money as well as supply things to it's customers. We could argue the logic behind day 1 DLC all day, but it's become a part of the normal model for alot of companies, and many gamers, myself included, support it. I don't necessarily think it's THE best way to go about generating funds, but given the fight against piracy/pre-owned games, it does make sense.

My biggest beef is when the asking price for said DLC is absurd - 10 bucks for a character/mission/integration into the main story is a fair price - and if I wasn't picking up the CE, I would certainly pick this up on Day 1 because my past experiences with Bioware's DLCs of this nature have all been positive [for the most part >.>]

Please note I'm not saying it's THE best thing they could do, but given the way the gaming market operates today, I've seen far worse habits from game devs.

OH MY GOD! Dragon Age 2 wasn't as good as anticipated, so that means that Bioware is in obviously in a decline athough they only released one average game out of the 18 amazing games they've put out.

Btw, Dragon Age 2 WASN'T that bad. It was average. If they hadn't reused enviorments people would be prazing it.

Anyways, before we get totally off topic, I pre-ordered the Collecters edition as soon as it was availible and i'm happy to know that I won't have to pay for the DLC.

We'll leave DA2 outside of this - too much to discuss re: that game. ME2 garnered more awards then ME1 and for myself and most of the people I play with and know, it surprassed ME1 by a significant margin, despite the mistakes they made in it. ME3's MP has been an absolute surprise with how much fun it's been, while also showing that Bioware isn't stupid - by making it OPTIONAL to helping SP, they give players choice.

AKA, your opinion is your opinion and the way you are trying to phrase it basically says "I am incapable of discussing a point w/o resorting to simple words and a bad attitude to do so" - you'd earn more points and respect if you'd discuss this instead of repeating that type of drivel

I pre-ordered the CE really fast. Ignoring all the cool bonus's you can get from it, I just wanted to end the trilogy in style.
Plus, I like the idea of Ash in red and white.

Geeze, tez19. Lighten up a little, or move on from the forums and Bioware altogether if it's causing you that much grief. I fail to see how they are in "decline" because they decided to put multiplayer in the game, or because they made one of the premium squadmates a deal with the Collectors Edition, but still available to buy as DLC.

To the OP, I pre-ordered the CE back in june, but if I didn't get a chance to I'd definetly still buy it as dlc like I did with Kasumi. That was premium content and well worth the money imo, and I suspect this Prothean dude is a much richer and more interesting character than Kasumi.

Uhhh, this detail wasn't announced (I belive it was leaked when they first revealed the contents of the Collecters edition but I did not know about it). I already pre-ordered my edition months ago with the revealed contents (N7 weapons, N7 hoody, apperance packs, etc). Now knowing that I will get this new DLC character that was at the time unannounced is pretty awesome. And yes I consider it a "free" addition.

I agree with this one too. I've got the older one as well and I keep it at work because it gets cold in my office frequently. It's so warm and comfy! And it always makes me happy when people actually know it's Mass Effect related.

Heh, i hated firewalker as well. The whole thing just pissed me off.

I am happy to pay for DLC. They're like mini expansions imo, could they charge a bit less? Sure...but I'm used to occasionally paying more money for new content, i've been playing MMO's for over ten years now, and they're all about expansions.

Well, sorry then. But you're talking about the CE, what about the DD. I don't have anything physical, so what? a dog, clothes and weapons cost 15 bucks?
