Don't have the money for the CE right now, and the standard version was preordered for me as a Christmas present. I can afford the 800 points for the DLC squadmate though, and I probably will since I didn't have to pay for the main game this time around.
Are you going to buy the Collectors edition or DLC?

BioWare said no more CEs will be made...they are only produced one time only so wait at your own risk......if you think $110-$130 is bad wait to see where those prices will go once the mainstrem retailers are out.

I'm still really disapointed at the fact that the Prothean is DLC in the first place. I have never even bought a DLC with MS points before, i usually just enjoy the game and what i already have. But this? God damnit this is just a tease from hell...

How in hell have you managed not to play any of the ME2 DLC....which is some of the best ever, especially LotSB, Kasumi and Zaeed. Hell I don't usually do this but in Mass Effect's case(1 & 2) I went out of my way to make sure I get EVERYTHING....every last piece of individual DLC promo or mainstream. I will do this for Mass Effect 3 but only on the single player side, I couldn't care less about multiplayer.

The CE was hard as **** to get your hands on here in the first place, and now it's sold out. I hate to admit it, but I probably will buy it at some point (at a sale or something). But let's just said, that my opinion on Bioware has been taken down a few notches after these news.
It's a LIVE PROTHEAN dammit! If it was just Vega, or any other minor character, it would have been fine, bit damn! What the hell Bioware?!

I don't particularly care about multiplayer...it's worthless to me, all I care about is the SP part of the game and that looks beyond absolutely amazing...everything from the story to the insanity difficulty and well everything....not a single valid flaw and of all the complaints I've seen not one was valid in regard to the SP part.
Hell ME3 looks like it'll be even more epic than KotOR which would make it by far the best game ever made and as far as the ME games go: ME3 > ME1 > ME2

I just preordered the digital deluxe version a few hours ago. I kept putting my pre-order off and realized I should probably go ahead and do it since the game comes out so soon
I was going to buy the From Ashes DLC if I got the standard version anyway, so I figured "why not" and just got the digital deluxe. *shrug*

I can't buy the CE anymore, it's sold out plus the game shop I go to here in my country - a shop that's actually EA's official carrier here - doesn't offer it since they weren't allotted any of it. So I guess I'll just have to buy the dlc for the PS3. Fortunately I can share my dlc with a friend so I'll just be paying half the price for every dlc that comes out.

I see an issue. Shale and Zaeed were both free in all copies purchased new. Charging full price for a similar type of DLC negates the "encouraging new purchase" angle.crackseed wrote...
From Ashes DLC comes with CE/DDE unless otherwise stated, so that's another plus to getting those versions. And, unless Bioware screws up [like with a couple of DA:O's DLCs] I generally buy all Mass Effect related DLCs. Personal choice thoughI enjoy what they add, even if it's just cosmetic tweaks.
@ Tez: Considering how Bioware has integrated past DLC characters, he'll definitely be part of the main game, just like Shale, unlocked separately via DLC. It's a move designed to encourage purchases of new games/supporting the developer w/o resorting to piracy basically - as long as they aren't asking an absurd price [800 MS seems pretty fair] I don't see an issue with it.

Agreed, they are ESSENTIAL to the story... Why they would spend development time and money creating them, only to cut them from the game and put them in as CE or stand alone only DLC is beyond me.
Highly unethical business practice if you ask me. I won't be buying this game AT ALL.
