Here is an easy trick to double your Rate of Fire for the bolt action sniper rifles (probably works with some shotguns too)
The reload animation for bolt action snipers consists of 2 parts:
1) putting the bullet in the camber
2) pulling the bolt back.
The thing is that you only need the first part, the second part is redundant. And you can interupt the either of the animations at any time be performing "an action". "An action" be something like leaving cover, running, rolling, use a spell (even if it is on cool down) or using a melee attack.
You can tell when the first part is done because the little symbol in the bottom left hand corner will turn red to indicate a bullet is in place.
If done correctly you can cut the reload time in half. If you do it too early then you fail and have to reload again but if you are too slow then there is no real penalty other than a slight delay in reloading. It is basically a GoW style active reload.
The best class to do this with is an Infiltrator because their invisibility zero casting time.
So the steps are
1) fire a shot
2) wait for the bullet to be chambered
3) the second that happens activate invisibility (even if it is on cooldown)
4) fire away
I never tested it but incinerate/cryo blast/adrenaline rush should be beneficial too since the are cast quickly.
For even higher Rate of Fire stay out of cover since leaning around cover takes time.
This is a really cool little bug and I hope EA keeps it.
Do you know about any cool little bugs like this?

Wow, I gotta try this with the Claymore. Love these "perfect" reloads.

Thanks for the tip , i've been using the Viper sniper rifle because of the increased rate of fire.

Works with pretty much every weapon. The moment the ammo counter is back on full, fire/sprint/power away. No need for the animation to finish.

It actually works with the Claymore! Very nice
It even looks like an improved ME2's reload cancel.

I tried this on PC and when cloak is on cd it doesnt interrupt reloading, but when you cast it off cooldown it works. when you use adrenaline you can interrupt the reload even BEFORE the bullet has been placed in the chamber so you get another shot off very quickly. I dont know any other ability that lets you do that.
one other thing I like to point out is you dont really increase your RoF (unless activating adrenaline), you just get to perform another action in place of sliding the lever back, which might even take longer but may be preferable such as dodging/punching.

Just a little tip in the same category, regarding cloak.
There is a moment between firing a shot and the cloak actually ending, setting off the cooldown. So for example you can cloak, fire a shot, and then cast a power immediately without triggering the cooldown. This lets you get a free power shot off even if you don't have the upgrade to get a free power.

I do this constantly and always thought it was because of the free power shot. Good info to know.
