Yeah, not being able to customize your face is lame, but good lord, imagine the bandwidth.

And part of the reason they kept humans with helmets is to increase anonymity of the soldiers and make sure no one went around making their Shepards. Would break immersion for some.

Uh... how would faces affect the bandwidth? Suits without the helmets remind me more of Alien/Aliens/Prometheus than Power Rangers.AdmiralCheez wrote...

I do think my Vanguard looks awesome with her black/purple armor, though.

You know faces are just a relatively small string of characters, right? It's not like a custom face would download an entirely unique mesh from the server or a peer. It would just grab the face code.

As an option that's fine, but it being mandatory is lame… especially since the other races have faces.

The bandwith? A face code is what 36 characters long?

I hope that's part of the full game.

Doubtful it was a bandwidth issue as a custom face can be transmitted as a very short code. Perhaps there were other technical or game design considerations.

Considering face codes are something like 30 characters, I don't think bandwidth would be an issue.

Sorry, but that makes no sense at all lol. I don't think any of the designers thought "Yeah, no human faces in multiplayer because some people might like their character more than Shepard" lol.Moonshadow_Dark wrote...
I think it's too keep it generic so you don't get to attached like you do with Shepard. You do have to play the campaign ya know.

Yeah, but they could just use the facecodes. I don't know if it would be that bad.

This, especially since Turian Helmets are pretty damn awesome it's a shame there isn't even the option to equip it.
