Male Shepard's have good hair. I use the one with the longest bangs, it looks pretty sexy.

It may just be the demo, but I do not like the new hairstyles because they look dislocated from Shepard's head and/or really puffy. If we have longer hair choices though, that would be awesome.

Nope, it's from scratch! The one I used in ME1 and ME2 were ok but I don't think they looked like me. I used the ME2 code in the demo to see what it would look like and it's not horribly far off.

i'm most interested in/worried about how my canon shep imports, since he dates back to ME1 and has no face code in ME2. it would have been nice to just hve a sort of normal short hair style to put on him, instead fo defaulting to the buzz because everything else looked weird .

and GIJooTheWarHero, I made a femshep from scratch and I DO like her. I made her in ME1 just to see how she compared, and she looks SO mkuch better in ME3. but of course, I'm using the only hairstyle that truly LOOKS good without squinting and turning your head, and that's the long tucked behind the ears one.

To get a facecode from an import character, just quickly import the same save in ME2 as a New Game+. The new character will have a face code generated for them.

And yeah, the graphics in ME3 have really made faces look real and not plasticy. I love the new complexion. No longer do I look like a Ken Doll!

I don't play female Shepard often, but when I do, I use the tight hairstyle. I also found it bit strange how "granny" the style looks.

But hey, I play mostly as male Shep, so it's not my biggest problem. But I hope Bioware will fix it.

I believe those are the hairstyles that will be in the game, but there might be additions that I'm not aware of (the last build I played of the game was before it went into certification so I don't know what's on the retail copy right now). There's always the possibility that more will be patched in post launch if you don't like any of those "

Sweet if true. Will we be able to edit our characters without having to start all over or enter a face-code? And will they add a full honest to god beard? Not talking about a James Harden type one, just a full beard.

The biggest thing (besides combat and elevators) that aggravated me about the first Mass Effect is the cloned hairstyle of seemingly every female NPC. Also, the cloned tiny breast size, which was very noticeable because they seemed to wear those weird half-robe, half-dress, half-underwear garments on the Citadel.

I'm sure you're not talking about NPC hairstyles, but I just commented on it anyways. Character customization in Mass Effect is good, but it has never been known as very comprehensive.

That's great news!

I'm curious as to what new options there are, though. I love how my Shep has turned out. The only thing I'd like to change is his nose and hair.

So does this mean more hair options?  Really hope they at least let us use the default femshep hair.

Femshep should get the asari hairstyle. I personally want my John Shepard to have a turian head. Just call it plastic surgery, or a fancy wig.

Your shep looks like James Deen and I am totally into that. Face code please? Not really into maleshep but a James Deen one would be great.
