So, based on your playthrough and choices, what do you think will happen to various major NPCs in your game and why?

*NOTE* This is NOT intended to be a "I hope so and so dies because s/he is a big poopy jerkface thread. I want to know what your best guesses are.

1. Liara - Liara honestly rubbed me the wrong way as a character in ME1 so I never talked to her any more than I had to. Her persona kind of struck me as the 12 or 13 year old child who had the major crush on her teacher and had no clue how to handle it appropriately. As a result, just about every scene with her just felt awkward as she came off as a mix of childlike innocent and hyper-sexuality. I really wanted to leave her on Virmire. I was sort of sorry that she underwent such a personality lobotomy between ME1 and ME2. Had they started her with her ME2 persona, I would have liked her much, much better. But, because my Sheps never talked to her, I can't in good conscious play it like she's my friend. AND, she sold my dead corpse to Cerberus. I won't forget that. When the time comes, I can't say that I'm exactly going to be inclined to go out on a limb for her. It just wouldn't feel right. It'll feel wrong - just like it felt wrong to talk to her in ME1, just like it felt wrong to suddenly be her good friend in ME2. Thus, I expect that Liara will wind up dying. It's too bad, but her writing doomed her in my playthroughs.

2. Kaidan - If at all possible, Kaidan will live. There would have to be something seriously bad going down to force me to choose against him. I've played all my playthroughs loyal, and I intend to stay loyal.

3. Wrex - If at all possible, I want him to live, too. Wrex's societal reforms are too important to the Krogan especially if we're going to be curing the genophage. Nothing would suck worse than to save the galaxy from the REapers only to have the Krogan recover their numbers the fastest and fall into their warlike ways and conquer all the others who are still trying to dig their way out. If Wrex lives and remains at the helm, we have a chance of averting that possibility. Otherwise, if Wrex dies, then it would perhaps be best for the Krogan not to survive the Reapers.

4. Garrus - I love Garrus. I love like a brother. And that's why I want him to go out with a bang! I want him to have the most heroic death in the series. I want him to die so heroically that centuries later, Turians refer to Garrus Vakarian the same way that Americans refer to George Washington or Martin Luther King. I want him to be such a Turian hero that when people start to tell stories of Shep's exploits in the presence of a Turian, the Turian says, "Ah, yes, Shepard ..." then dismisses that claim and launches into wildly heroic stories of the Reaper War exploits of Garrus Vakarian. And the the reason why I want this for Garrus is because after his role with Shepard, what's left for Garrus except to fade into obscurity? This way he lives forever at the peak of greatness. I also think this is a fitting way for Space Batman to permanently and irrevocably show up his father who has never been satisfied with his son.

5. Tali - I have a bad feeling about this one. My canon playthrough has Tali exiled. I didn't have the points to either charm or intimidate the board into reinstating her, and I acceded to her wishes not to ruin her father's rep. So, she's an exile. And when it comes to the Quarian/Geth question, pragmatically, I have to side with the one who gives me the best chance of defeating the Reapers, questions of right and wrong aside. If I side with the level of right and wrong and it dooms the galaxy, it'll be cold comfort to the rest of the galactic community. That means I could have to side against Tali. Ideally, I'll be able to broker a peace between the two, but will that even be possible with an exiled Tali? So, I'm afraid that I'll lose Tali ...

6. Anderson/Hackett - I can't see both of them surviving, but neither do I see both of dying. Given that Anderson seems to be our first squadmate, and that he stayed on Earth (aka Indoctrination Central), I'm afraid that when we said "Good Luck" to Anderson in the demo, we really were saying "Good-bye." That means that I'm putting Hackett ahead on the Alliance Brass Survival 5,000 for the moment. I'm guessing he withdrew the Earth fleets as soon as it became patently aware that there was no chance of stopping the invasion of Earth from orbit.

7. Joker - The guy has brittle bones. He already survived one close call at the start of ME2. If the Normandy goes down again, I don't see him making it out.

Imagine a scene where Shepard would be given a Galactic-State funeral and where every squadmate of the three games would give a speech in his rememberance, the Council addressing on how they were wrong all along, how humanity's and mostly Shepard's resilience have proved to be their Salvation from the Reapers.
Then an open coffin with Shepard in armor would go in procession, we'd get a view at everyone Shepard helped in the past, be it in main and side quests, all with the music of Clint Mansell.
And then the coffin would be blowed out of an airlock towards the Galactic core, with Garrus one hand pressed on the window would stare at the coffin disappearing into the stars.
