OK Ive been playing for a few days now and never got a Gold card, all Ive been buying is the Highest level available (the 20k)  No new wpns or characters.  Was getting pretty sad. 

Then today I ran into a great group and was finishing levels in under 15 min.  So I had a pile of cash saved... When we finally quit, I spent it all.

First 3 packs

I mean really... c'mon  (I dont even play melee types)  next pack

Drell Vanguard  (I already have a lvl 19 Vanguard and heard this guy is squishy)

So thats 4 golds in a row when I havent had ONE in a week or so.

next few packs, no golds and Still havent gotten a single gold weapon and I keep hearing of how cool and great they are, would be nice to actually see one.  I did get a Quarian Engineer a while later and I do like that one...

I mean it is only a week or so, but  I would like to see more variety, maybe when it goes retail they will have more options for packs, etc...  Like class packs, or Race packs, so the items are more tailored to what you would actually want to play.  I would even pay like 50K for a Platinum pack or something that has a guaranteed Gold or Weapon, etc...

Yeah, it's a cheap way to keep you interested in multiplayer. It seems like the game knows what you like and gives you everything but so that you keep playing for another chance.

I got a Widow II, Carnifex,claymore and all the races except Turian and Krogan.

A Shame that i just use AR's and since from start i want a Turian and a Krogan.

10 more boxes opened.. I got 2 golds... the Claymore and the Rev... both too heavy for my characters, and I dont see much of a difference in damage. I swear that the devs code in that if you are using one character type, you only get drops for the ones you ARENT using !!!

I would really like to see something like whatever character you have currently selected when you open the box gives you a much greater chance to find something useful for THAT character.

I really want to play Salarian Infiltrator (or any other besides human). ALL my friends got him by now, I didn't. My friend wanted Krogan soldier ... EVERYONE of my friends has him (sometimes twice), except for that friend. This system is full of crap and promotes annoyance. I really hope they will change it soon. Im sick of IX smg's that I never use... Let ppl sell the weapons at least or sth.

I do believe that this is true!  I cannot get the gear I want, and my cup overfloweth with useless junk.  Either I already have it, or .....  well - don't want it.  Its like the Claymore 2.  Its Junk!

I think that the game uses random rolls based off of characters you are NOT playing on.  I know I don't have a ton of time wrapped up in the MP, but I do have an N7 rank of over 100.  I have not yet gotten one thing that I wanted while on the toon I wanted it on.

I have ash trays full of Krogan soldiers, human male and female infiltrators, and guns that are just so heavy that they suck.  I'll be damned if I'm getting penalized for carrying stuff that I could in the other games!

It's the law of random unlocks - you always get something you don't immediately want. When you finally stop actively looking for it, you will un-crate what you wanted (so long as you don't want it now).

^ i felt like this as well... almost always when i play my adept i rarely get any pistol upgrades, adept updates. i always get SMGs, ARs, SRs... this system just sucks. i want weapon upgrade cards that let you upgrade a specific weapon, not a random one

Level 20 Human Adept, Full Customization. Have all non rare weaps on level X, get from Veteran Packs:

Seriously, why not rare items? This is really frustrating.

At least they said they're fixing it to where you'll have a higher chance to get things you want/things you use in the full game.

I really ****ing hate that random system, for example, I woul dlike to get Vindicator insted stupid sniper rifle up-grades.

Just because you didn't get what you want, means that the system sucks. Just forget what you want and play with whatever you unlock.

Unlocking stuff you already have doesn't help.

This random unlock system sucks, hard. Essentially it's a "leveling" system on auto-pilot. I guess those who always use the auto-leveling system on their characters will like it. I prefer to spec my characters to my liking which is impossible with this junk system (unless you don't have a life and play the damn MP 24/7).

I hope on top of a fix to the system there are at least better packs than veteran to buy in the full game.

The system will be mostly the same but there will be a lot more loot, including more rare weapons, mods, and whatnot so we hopefully won't keep getting Avengers etc. 

Although the Avenger X is surprisingly good btw

I am around lvl 60 and still haven't had ANY other race unlocked :/

I'm lvl 90 and have the Krogan soldier, Asari adept, Turian sentinel and Quarian engineer, and a whack load of upgraded guns.

Most people say the Drell sucks, but I really want to try him out. I haven't seen many Drell online. Also, I can't wait for the Salarian infiltrator.

Are there are any differences between the human genders?

It's so bad I ended up with a lvl 20 krogan soldier without even using him trying to unlock the widow rifle. Also engineer was lvl 17.

Just unlocked the revenant X. It's still rubbish. On the other hand...widow X is great.

I never use sniper rifles but get nothing but sniper rifle boosts. Adept is my favourite class and I just cant unlock the asari. I have the quarian (prefer the human engineer) and the turian (dont like the sentinel). Very annoying - my N7 rank is almost 80

If only we could do swaps.
