1. German speaking players.
2. Russian speaking players.
I have a masochistic pleasure of hearing people shout at me in a language I can't understand.
anyway on 99% of the time I get to extractions on gold so not a problem.

It takes a certain kind of person to get me to talk and use my mic.
This, also, this.

I'm german and whenever I duo with a german friend of mine, we talk in german. Once we invite PUGs in, we're either silent or talk in english. I think it's impolite to annoy other players with a language they can't understand, especially when I'm able to speak their language.Googleness wrote...
I never use the mic, why?

I don't even bother plugging in my mic anymore, there's never really anyone to talk to. And it's not like we need to coordinate on gold. Though in one of my latest gold PUGs on FBW against reapers, where I had to solo all the later waves I kinda wished I had my mic on so I could shout profanities at the other players in german.

Here's hoping the upcoming PS4 will allow us to both hear & talk on a headset (in-game sounds right now have to come from the TV).

some of the same opinions are held and are true for this topic even today, so this is basically a "timeless topic".
funny tho, because people say "search is your friend" then complain when people do just that.
... go figure.

On the PS3 (played only bronze & silver so far), it's rare for me to clearly hear what someone with a mic is saying. Don't know the stats but those using mics are also a minority. Hope it's not true mics are needed for gold 'cause I don't have one!

A mic for Gold isn't necessary if you're playing with people who know what they are doing.

And sometimes I'd rather listen to music at blaring volumes. Do you still want me to turn my mic on?
And hell, a Lowe of the time I just don't want to test my luck on the PUG lottery more than necessary. It's bad enough I'm risking getting horrible teammates, but I don't want to chance listening to some guys background guests yelling at each other, or their dog barking, or their pr0n. So I'll probably just stick to party chat anyway.
