I despise chatting with pre-pubescent players. There seem to be a lot of those.
Also, there's usually a pair of annoying friends talking about everything besides the Phantom behind me.
I usually party chat with my friend if I'm playing with him because I don't want to annoy others with my unrelated banter about my actual life.


Helpful and enjoyable people over Xbox.

How can you coordinate anything when most players think it's race to get the most kills? Most players run around like idiots trying to get all the kills as fast as possible. I tried to coordinate & use strategy but the retards would still do it their way & run straight into a Phantom & a bunch of turrets & then expect me to save their sorry asses. I left them there to die, took my time, finished the wave & got all the points.

If you're stupid & run straight into the hot zone I won't be there to back you up. But if you take it nice & easy & let the enemies come to you instead of racing to them, then I got your back. This game is loaded with stupid players. Mass Effect is all about ducking & covering & taking your time. But most players just don't get that.  So I say, let them bleed out. That's what you get for being STUPID!

The only time I really use a mic for anything but chatting is when I get taken down and need to say "Help meeee" In that really annoying fly voice until someone revives me. Actually it would probably be best if I didn't have a mic.

I also use it to call my enemies deragatory names.

Also can people not burp/whistle every 5 minutes or mute the mic or move the mic away from their mouth if they are going to. Seriously, burping helps nobody on Silver or Gold challenges. Whistling the theme to the A-Team once is hilarious, twice is mirthful, three times is... OH MY GOD I DIDN'T HEAR THE WHINE OF THE NEMESIS OR THE FOOTFALLS OF THAT ATLAS!

I stopped using cobras because no one communicates and when i would fire mine id see 2 more go flying right before or right after mine, its such a waste when its so simple to just say hey i got this one you get the next one. Although this still may not help because the 1000xp you get from killing an Atlas is like crack for all the kill seekers who think the point is to get more kills then everyone in the game and have an amazing K/D

The last time the burping happened it was two different guys with mics, one burped then the other burped. Then the first one burped again but it was abrupt and rather louder than the first time. The other guy seemed to think it was a competition and did LONG DRAWN OUT BURP and then laughed to himself afterwards. I unmuted my mic, since I tend to swear alot, and proceeded to swear... alot.

OH and my least favorite of all mic abuses, people who won't shut the hell up about all the "amazing/kick-butt/f*ckn' sweet" things they're friend did in previous matches. This is not your personal story time, we are not your fawning captive audience, nor do we want to guess what your friend did no matter how many times you ask us to guess what they did.

In fact if you ask more than 5 times for me to guess I will start guessing wrong, in fact I will guess embrassing yet plausible things until you shut up.

Only if you or your team sucks. Just finished 2 succesful runthroughs of Gold this morning and nobody had mics (or perhaps they did but didn't use them) and it went great. Seriously people need to find another excuse.

Hey guys i've been playing the multiplayer for a while now and have also been messing with the microphone option for just as long with no luck. It sucks when you turn a corner see a phantom standing right there, and while you are backing off to get some space in betweeen you and that execution on legs, your team mate runs around the corner oblivious to whats there. So ya if you guys could help me out with that, it would be awesome. I've tried messing with the input volume, drivers, that force voice option, and changing type of input but so far no luck. I have heard there there are some issues with this right now but I was wondering how some people got it to work.

I have only been in a few games where I Don't make it past wave 5....I almost always pass all waves.. Also I don't even have a mic so that wouldn't work to well lol but I can still hear ppl and unlike the ppl the OP has had I'm extremely aware of my surroundings I.E I'm always looking around, just a habit from paintball I suppose tho lols.

I have been in a few games where the other players are just OMG....Newbs ? but that only happens once is a great while. If it Really bothers you just play with your friends, now I myself don't take any of this personally I don't care if the other person has a mic or not, its the Cheaters who think there smart changing/editing files so they can 1 shot nearly everything with a pistol in silver mode that annoy the hell out of me.

I always have my mic on, but the other folks either don't have one or don't use it. Or if it's kids that seem to be under 13, I won't talk and turn my mic off. Just from experience.

I also don't swear or yell, and the folks I have on my friends list tend not to either.

You can reduce the volume of voice chat in the option effectively mute all.   Its what I do.    Unless there is some epic reaper-like invasion of maturity that sweeps the world, its not worth listening to most people on their mics.
