I play as an infiltrator but im in a little bit of a disadvantage on gold with the mantis but maybe i have to play years to unlock it and more years to acutally upgraded it...
This system has to go or i rent this game for the story, finish the trilogy than...I don't know buy the new ghost recon or something.
I was never bothered with no MP in mass effect, but becouse there is now i expect it to be good, and the "trollolo" random drops are ruining the experience.

I'll trade my widow for any race unlock after 20 vet packs and the same in recruits. Still haven't got one yet...
Indeed. N7 lvl 53~57, opened around 30 veteran packages. Not even ONE different race.

And I have yet to unlock Turian Sentinal or Asari Adept.
My N7 Rating is 93 and I've opened at least 60 Vet packs

I have one too but I still use a mantis X over it simply because of cooldowns. Besides, a mantis X, with a few easy attainable mods/ammo powers etc, on bronze and silver (not sure about gold - haven't played it yet), can one shot (body shots) most unprotected enemies so the widow seems kind of redundant at the moment for me. Maybe on a gold game with a few gun upgrades (to bring the weight down) will make it very useful on gold but at the moment it's not at all needed.
Cloaked widow one shots centurions, nemeses, and phantoms in the head. I doubt the Mantis can do that very highly. If you kill and reload the weapon cooldown is also greatly sped up. Just saying.
Edit: Also 4 shots Atlases on silver.

if you have the carnifex its a very good alternative with a scope.
I do have the carnifex and like I said in the OP I have all of the mods at 5 so it has the scope and the barrel. But the damage is still lower, its more of a replacement for the viper than it is for the widow. The main perk of the widow, to me at least, is how it goes through guardian shields.
Also all but one of my friends that play with me have gotten the widow, one of them got it in his starter pack and he only uses the assault rifle.
The Widow is sweet. With my Salarian Infiltrator it only takes a couple of rotations of Cloak->Mine->Snipe to take out an Atlas.

I forgot to say in my original post that I was using cloak and energy drain. If you use those 2 powers (cloak then energy drain) and then shoot right after the defense is stripped you can one shot everything with bodyshots on bronze and silver, except for an atlas. That combination is also so seemless and by the time you've reloaded your next shot, your cooldown is finished.
Also, a Mantix X gets pretty close in terms of damage to a widow I. Look at the pics below:

So, like I said, the widow is still not necessary for me yet.

As someone with both, if you are really good at aiming, the Carnifex is the best weapon in the demo. You can rapidly kill anything without wasting a shot (say someone else kills your target), resulting in more efficiency. Guardians can be shot through the faceplate, or if you can't aim that well, just shoot the feet or combo with powers.
Carnifex's faster reload and better overally effiiciency means that on gold you don't need a backup weapon like you will with the Widow (for those times you get in short-melee range and can't survive if you miss).
Carnifex > Widow in my opinion.

Edit: In other words, no I can't join the club, but I can say that I hope you all get one eventually. You'll destroy all the things.
