Demo crash after connect

Salutations,

Me and several others have been having issue(s) when it comes
to playing the ME3 demo after multiplayer was released for the public
use (as opposed to early access [which I was not a part of]). Once the
demo starts up and goes the main menu, the message will show "Connecting
to EA servers". This will successfully complete, only to be followed by
a crash. For me, the crash occurs right after the image in the upper
right attempts to load (the circle will spin an average of two times
before freezing). However, if Origin is set to offline mode, the game
will start and be fine. However, this means no connection to server, and that only single-player can
be played. Any attempt at connecting will result in another crash (A
video of what happens is ).
This was not a problem before the release of public multiplayer.

Others are having problems even connecting to the servers in the
first place. This issue doesn't seem to affect the majority of Windows 7 64-bit users . The majority of those with problems has been Vista users (that I know of). I'll be attaching my DxDiag, and two
Windows eventlogs to aid in analysis:

http://dl.dropbox.co...o/Eventlog1.txt

http://dl.dropbox.co.../Eventlog 2.txt

Edit, just again tried. No luck:

In addition, two other forum threads on the issue(the first talking about another issue in addition to the one above):

Same problem here, we have a 250-post thread about this, but EA don't care.

Bump... server maintenance didn't do anything. Reinstalling the client and game (freshly downloaded) on a new admin account, as suggested by live support, doesn't help either.

I have Windows 7 64-bit on my desktop and on my laptop. I have this exact same crash problem on the desktop, but not on my laptop. In singleplayer my desktop plays the demo very smoothly, while the laptop has some 'lag' issues, but that is because my desktop is much better than my laptop. I have checked my firewall settings on both and they are, as far as I can tell, identical. They both connect to the internet through the same router, although the desktop connects directly to the router by wire and my laptop connects wirelessly.
The same version of origin is running, and I even replaced all of the demo files on the desktop with the files from the laptop. The only difference in the operating systems is that the desktop is the professional version while the laptop is the home version of Windows 7 64-bit SP1. The fact that one can successfully connect to and play multiplayer while the other cannot makes me think that there may be some setting or other on the desktop that is contributing to the problem and that it may not be solely on the EA Servers end of things.
If it helps, the desktop is an AMD Phenom II x4 945 Processor, 8GB RAM, with an ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics card with 1GB memory. The laptop is an Intel Pentium P6200 dual core processor, 4 GB RAM, with an integrated Intel HD Graphics card with 128MB memory. I don't think those differences would matter in this issue, but I am curious to how others' computers might compare to either of mine.
If anyone has any suggestions on what settings I can check between the two, let me know.
I would prefer playing Multiplayer on my desktop as I know the gameplay will be much smoother. However, even though MP on the laptop is far from smooth, I have had a blast playing it.

Same here, I get several crashes and only after last server patch/maint. One right after 1st sound on originally opening the game, others when connecting to new games, I just hear that same long drawn out sound note and have to end the process eventually.

Don- I'd open your own thread or try to find a thread that has to do with your problem. But try to plug your laptop directly to router as well, you lose speed through wireless with many variables affecting it.

Defiant21- I am not concerned about my laptop, as it is not my primary choice for gaming (nor is it as suited for gaming as my desktop). My concern is with my desktop having the same issue as the others on this thread. I would really like for this problem to be solved, as I would prefer being able to play multiplayer (not just on the demo but in the full game when it comes out) on my desktop. That is why I brought up my laptop, as perhaps comparing the settings between the two will help isolate the real issue that is causing the crash after connection, as my situation would suggest that part of the problem may originate with settings or other components/interactions on my computer. Either by isolating the issue ourselves or providing enough data to Bioware/EA so that can do the same on their end, hopefully this problem can be resolved for everyone.

Indeed, it does seem that, since your computers are so closely matched network-wise, it should work. That does suggest a problem on the use-side. Funnily enough, it seems we have the same graphics cards.
On another note, for those of us with the problem, are your systems (cpu, graphics card, motherboard) Intell or AMD based?

ahh my bad Don. I misread.
intel i2500k cpu
nvidia 560 ti vid
Asrock ex3gen3 mb here.
Purt sure its not isolated to a brand from what I've read so far.
But it didn't start for me until the patch a couple days ago, or server maint

I'm pretty sure it isn't because of brand as well, but, it just seems like a strange coincidence. My brother can run the demo fine (multiplayer as well). He has Windows 7-64 Premium, and his laptop is also Intel-based as well. So, just strangeness.
But yeah, for me it started once multiplayer became public. The server maintenance recently didn't help either.

Well, at least we know that it isn't localized to one system.
Official responses seem more plentiful on the EA forums:
