Have any of  you noticed the .dmp files in your Documents folder (C:\\Users\\...\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3 Demo\\BIOGame\\Logs)?  There is one for every time I have loaded the demo and it crashed after connecting.  I can open it in Notepad but Notepad obviously isn't the native program meant to view the contents of these files.  Any ideas on what program would be able to open and view them?  They may contain information regarding why the crash occurs.

Whenever I try to log in to the EA servers to play the Kingdoms of Amalur demo, I get an error message saying I "can't connect to the servers at this time". Last I checked, my internet connection is completely fine. I've also turned off my firewall and deleted my driver/etc/host file as well. I've tried it all so far...nothing is working, and I'm getting really frustrated with this. I'm also unable to connect in the Mass Effect 3 demo. Can someone please help us figure this issue out? I'm finally off work and I really want to be able to play these demos! :)

As I understand, these are Mass Effect 3's engine dump files. They can be opened with Microsoft Visual Studio. As of yet, I've not had succes opening them. If you can though, please do!

Edit, and links:
Just to confirm, the .dmp files can be opened by Microsoft Visual Studio. However, it requires the base express version, along with any of the upgrades: Proffessional, Premium, Ultimate. All of this requiring a Windows Live account for free (but manditory [after 30 days]) registration.

Downloading 1.9GB (for the trial upgrade to ultimate) will take me quite a long time... upwards of 7 hours. If anyone with a faster internet is willing to mess with this, please give it a try.

Well, I guess the compression on this install is great! It finished, and I can indeed open the .dmp.
The Exception Information is uniform throughout all my dumps.
EDIT: From posts that have the same error (different games though), it looks like this has something to do with Windows's .NET, I'll continue looking for more info.
EDIT2: So, in my forrays into messing around with .NET, seems I got quite a few programs to mess up as well. So, I can't open my dumps any more, but, at least I got a couple open to see that the error is the same each time.
EDIT3: Still can't find any more info on how to solve this. Most of what I've found pertains to other games, or developing software. In the first, the fixes are very specific. In the second, everything mostly has to do with programing scrips.
However, both did say to reinstall .NET. Which I have done. I'm going to try messing with my page files and RAM slots next.

Still reinstalling Microsoft Visual Stuido (have to re-download the entire thing, again...).
So far, I've uninstalled every .NET application I could. I then reinstalled .NET 4 and 3.5. However, 3.0, or any earlier versions, can be installed (dunno why). I've also swapped my memory cards around in their slots; allocated more to the page file as well. Nothing so far has helped. EA support still not forthcoming with a solution.
-Don, any update on your dumps?

Bump, bump, bump and still nothing. And I still can't play the ME3 demo... Wonder if the same will be happen with full ME3... :pinched:

P.S. I know that crash/ctd issue it's because of fu***ng Origin. I just know it, because ME1 & ME2 are working fine for me, as like others game. :?

Edit: Pre-order cancelled  I will have to use non origin (pirated?) version of me3, to normally (without problems) play ME3...:( As I see legally users can have much more problems than pirates.

Edit: Oh nevermind

Lucas, what do you mean:

Edit: Oh nevermind {smilie}

In any case, you are indeed correct. Legal+Client=DRM=more conditions the game has to pass in order to run=more things can go wrong.

My conjecture of what the problem is: I'm guessing that some badly written code is causing the game to try reading and writing information to someplace that either doesn't exist, or somewhere the game doesn't have permission to. To confirm, if anyone could upload their .dmp files
(c:\\users\\*user*\\documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3 Demo\\BIOgame\\logs)
and send them to me (using the forum messaging system). This will let me confirm that the problem is universal.

Update: ME3 demo is working again for me! I just uninstalled completely ME3 demo (also deleted whole me3 demo folder in documents/my games/me3 demo) and then I just started Origin and updated it to newest version, then I redownloaded ME3 demo and voila! ME3 demo works again!

I also disabled compression (compression to save disk space) on whole ME3 demo folder, + updated my graphics drivers (AMD 8.960 14 February). I also updated directx libraries, and downloaded all windows updates, + MTNet Framework.

Edit: I also start ME3democonfig.exe to allow game engine to re-create system & hardware info for it.

Good luck! :)

Lucas, just to confirm, the problem you were having was that the game was crashing within seconds connecting to the EA servers correct? In addition, did the demo work before multiplayer went public on the 17'th?
If so, could you describe the steps you took in a slightly more detailed manner. E.g. how you updated your directx libraries, and what exactly is MTnet Framework?
In addition, links to the places you used would also be of help.
Lastly, what version of Origin(select the cog in the upper right of the client, and click about) do you have?

Ok, my Origin version is 8.5.0.4518. MTNet is Microsoft Net Framework (versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 - you can google it), and I just updated my DirectX Runtime Libraries (June 2010 version lol). Also I just reinstalled Origin + ME3 demo.
ME3 demo working good to 18-19 February for me, then stopped working (crashes on connecting/menu loading), until now...

Thanks. I see you opted into the pre-release of Origin. I'm also intruiged you were able to install all the versions of .NET. My computer won't install anything before 3.0.
In any case, thanks for that info. I'll continue with my efforts, and report back with any news (again, slow download, so, probably will be awhile).
