I'm nearing the end of updating everything. My computer still won't let me install .NET 3.0. I'm hoping to get it through windows debug tools. As such, that's still downloading. I have updated directx to the June 2010 version. I've also downloaded all the essential windows updates (unless SP1 for Microsoft Office [or SQL servers] would change something).
So, in short, still downloading...
In addition, since the game is coming out in about a week, I think the demo may be taken offline soon.

Just want to add that I also updated/reinstalled vcredist_x86_x64 libraries (2005, 2008, 2010 + sp1 versions, you can google it). Also I completely uninstalled FFDShow codecs.

Sorry to hear you are having problems.

In order for us to further investigate this issue can you please provide the following files?
If you need any help or would like to email the files instead of posting somewhere accesible, please feel free to drop me a PM.

List of Installed Programs
1) From The Start Menu Navigate to "Accessories" and run "Command Prompt"
2) Type the following command on the command prompt: wmic /output:c:\\ProgramList.txt product get name, version
3) After a few seconds the command should complete, the file will be located at C:\\ProgramList.txt

DXDiag
1) From the start menu use Run/Search Programs and Files and type "DXDiag" then hit return
2) DXDiag will now launch
3) Click "Save all information" and save the file somewhere easily accesible.

Many Thanks!

Hi All,

Thanks to those who provided the information I requested. I have a lead on what may be causing this crash.

I'd like to ask that you whitelist the following host in any Firewall/Proxy/Ad blocking or filtering tools you may have: me3.goscontent.ea.com port 80 and 443

I'm continuing to investigate to see if we can resolve this on our side.

Joe

I only have window's firewall running. So, I added the ports (TCP and UDP [wouldn't let me add the specific address though]). The game still crashed. Just to be sure, I turned off the firewall, and DMZ'd my computer; Still didn't improve the situation.
Those are my results, hope they somehow helped. In addition, I am on a wireless connection (if that makes a difference)

Edit: I also have DEP turned off.

Joe(Hegarty) is the one working on this. I personally have no more ideas to try out. Plus, Joe is alot more qualified than I.

Hi Folks,

I am still investigating this problem. I believe I've tracked down the cause of the problem and I am currently investigating why it occurs on specific machines and potential ways to fix it.

Unfortunately I don't have any more information to share right now or any potential fixes. Should that change I will post an update.

Thanks a lot for helping us, Joe. I was beginning to lose faith in BioWare. I actually want to work for BioWare someday, so it disappointed me to see that you guys weren't listening to your fans. Thanks again for being such a big help!

I have a similar problem with crashes, though these are during or after multiplayer matches. About every other MP match ends in a crash, either at the "victory" overlay immediately after the timer expires (before any loading screen), or during the load screen before being awarded points. I also experience random crashes during arbitrary points in MP matches.

Here are "DxDiag.txt", "ProgramList.txt":

dl.dropbox.com/u/19422084/ME3/DxDiag.txt

dl.dropbox.com/u/19422084/ME3/ProgramList.txt

I have way more "*.dmp" files than I care to link individually, so here's a zip with all of them:

dl.dropbox.com/u/19422084/ME3/DumpFiles.zip

I also took a look at one of the dump files in the Windows debugger, but without the symbol table (I wouldn't expect the shipped binary to have debug symbols ;), there's not much I can glean.

Hope this helps!

Hey guys I just wanted to update you on this
I did just build my computer and although everything appeared stable, the me2 and me3 problems seemed RAM related so I dropped my DDR3 1600 down to 1300 and BAM I was able to play the demo to completion on my first try.
Memtest is throwing a few errors at 1600 so i may just need to find a stable voltage.
If any other errors occur I will update, thanyou for making an entertaining demo, I am excited for this games release!
