I frickin' hate how it one-shots your shields. Pushing you over then running over for a sword strike would be worse though.
Think of the cool ground fatality animations.

It's too powerful for what is supposed to be a close range character.
I'm not so sure on the "supposed to be close range"...
Phantom, to me, is almost a mini-boss for Cerberus. They show up ""rarely"" & have the ability to all but two-shot you. They should be found & dealt with before they get the chance to put you down...of course that's not always as easily done as said.

They can one-shot you from a distance and one-shot you from melee distance.

Who thinks that a ME1 NPC biotic attack, the one that knocks over would be more appropriate for a phantom? They are biotics afterall, and it looks kinda silly when they go pew, pew from their palm.
I think that attack got removed because nothing infuriates players as much as your character lying as ragdoll on the ground looking like complete retard.

So the 6 you get on gold on a single wave is a party ?

This, ohh so many times. They're anything but rare on most gold levels and on the upper silver levels. Easily 4-8/wave.

Leave them, they're perfect, and already got a big weakness against stasis.

I think the visual cues need to be a bit better there.

Rarely? They show up fairly regularly after wave 7 or 8, and have the ability to take you out without a revive. Add that to the fact that they can take out your shields in 2 bursts, or one shot you at close range, I'd say they're too good at range. The Atlas should be the ranged killer, and tha Phantom the up close and personal one. Instead the Phantom is an agile all round killer that takes far more effort than necessary to kill, without an Adept stopping it with stasis.

""RARELY"" in comparison to other targets.
Better, now capsed?
Anyway...

Makes no sense to me...as a Vanguard, anyway. Biotic Charge, Heavy Melee...that'll put it down...then as difficulty goes up, add shotgun, another charge (preferably not a nova unless you know Charge will be ready).
I deal with them same as I deal with most things. I don't really get where all the cry comes from with them...sure I've been downed by them but only when I've just not noticed them...when being lazy ;3.

Your character can be equally as deadly at both extremes at the same time, why not the Phantoms?thesinned wrote...
To me, an enemy who excells at close-range shouldn't also have good/great ranged attacks.

Vanguard with just a phalanx = 200% cooldown. Charge is ALWAYS ready after a nova. How a vanguard beats a phantom:
on bronze: Charge/nova
On silver: Charge/nova/Charge/nova
On gold: Charge/nova/charge/nova/charge/noma

Shotgun seems best. Tried SMG, but the recoil made it difficult to get a bead.
Mattock all the way though. ; )
