I never even experienced the ranged attack until yesterday. Pain in the neck when they seemed to just spam it every time I saw them.

Shotgun seems best. Tried SMG, but the recoil made it difficult to get a bead.
Mattock all the way though. ; )

Widow... But seriously the ranged "biotic bullet" attack is over powered, 3 bullets would be fine to take my shields down but 1 is stupid. The blades don't even do that.

It's too powerful for what is supposed to be a close range character.

I'm not so sure on the "supposed to be close range"...

Phantom, to me, is almost a mini-boss for Cerberus. They show up ""rarely"" & have the ability to all but two-shot you. They should be found & dealt with before they get the chance to put you down...of course that's not always as easily done as said.

idk about rarely you get a ton of them playin gold i've found stasis then warp plus finish off with guns is the best way to deal with them quickly but that can be hard to do with 2-3 atlas on your back.

Giving her a knockdown and more agressiveness would effectively make it frustrating on gold, making you vulnerable to several phantoms charging and atlas´s having free shots on you.

They already have a knock down (why Soldier concusion shot rocks vs them) and adept can trap them to singularity.

Makes no sense to me...as a Vanguard, anyway. Biotic Charge, Heavy Melee...that'll put it down...then as difficulty goes up, add shotgun, another charge (preferably not a nova unless you know Charge will be ready).

I deal with them same as I deal with most things. I don't really get where all the cry comes from with them...sure I've been downed by them but only when I've just not noticed them...when being lazy ;3.

Well yes, but not everyone is a vanguard, and sometimes you don't have a vanguard or adept on the team. Salarian infiltrator is the next best thing after those two, but not by much. Soldiers can spam 'nades and take out a phantom easy on bronze, but I doubt it's that easy as you go up to silver and gold.

But my point was that phantoms, with their current ability of cloaking+barriers+one shots (and is it just me or do they regenerate those as well? I swear there was once I thought I stripped a phantom of it's shields only for it to go into hiding and I had to concentrate on other more immediate threats. Then it comes back with full barriers and I run for my life) seems to be a bit op. And it takes too much effort to take them out unless you have a specialist, or you pray that your team recognises the threat.

I can handle a Phantom easily in a 1 vs 1, the problem is when you get to Gold and there are like 4+ in a wave. The only thing you can really do against them is go hit them with biotics, and aim for headshots with high powered snipers, or any other high powered gun.

All the shielded enemies have shield recharges, IIRC.

It's funny because the Nemesis should be the REAL ranged threat, but the Phantoms do the same amount of ranged damage WAY more often...

Also the Phantom's sword does less damage than the hand blast, what's up with that (Well, the phantom can one-hit kill you in melee, but it doesn't do it everytime)?

I suggest that they completely take away her ability to shoot, and either give her another sword or make her just charge into melee, instead of taking cover and shooting... It would be epic if 8 phantoms would all charge at your team during the extraction (at the moment they just take cover and shoot with their hand blasters)...

Who thinks that a ME1 NPC biotic attack, the one that knocks over would be more appropriate for a phantom? They are biotics afterall, and it looks kinda silly when they go pew, pew from their palm.

I think that attack got removed because nothing infuriates players as much as your character lying as ragdoll on the ground looking like complete retard.

THIS ATTACK IS FREAKING BULL**** OHMYGOD THOSE DAMN ADEPT WOULD SPAM YOU OVER WITH THAT **** AND YOU WOULD LAY ON THE GROUND FOR HOURS ONLY TO GET HIT BY THIS INSTANT ATTACK AGAIN !!! OMGBBQHATEHATEHATEHATEHATE

^ My reaction each time I get ragdoll when Playing ME1.

No you don't get it. Give PHANTOM a biotic knockdown. SHE will knock you over on ranged.

Maybe it would be a stagger then if you have shields/barriers? And only knock over when you have only health left?

So knocking you off your feet with biotics wouldn't be tough?

I don't see what the problem is for most classes.
Human Soldier: Grenades to stagger/remove Barrier, and then Automatic weapons
Krogan Soldier: Carnage for Barrier, then... BATTER UP!
Adepts: Stasis
Infiltrators: Cloak, then weaponry
Engineers: Overload/Energy Drain for Barrier, Drone/Turret for distraction, and weapons/Incinerate to finish
Vanguards: Charge and Shotgun or Charge and Nova
Sentinels: Overload to take out Barriers, then weapons
Of course, teamwork is paramount in all cases (except, perhaps, Krogan Soldier and Vanguard).

There's a difference between tough and infuriating.  Phantoms are dangerous and stressful enemies, but you can beat them as long as you stay on your toes (some classes have an easier time than others).  That throw ability was about the lamest thing in any game ever and if something like it gets put into the game multiplayer automatically becomes about 20% less fun.

I think that one properly leveled vanguard can take on 2 at a time, for I have. Not sure about 4 though.

I can handle the phantoms long range attacks, what gets me when they get close and personal and start to slice and dice you, that is how they kill me lots of times. But if you gets 2or 3 group mates to shoot them with they are piece of cake to kill.

The way I see it, they need to lose either the ungodly hand cannon, or the ungodly Barrier strength. That stupid Barrier is way too strong for the damage and agility that the Phantom has.

One thing, on the topic of phantoms, I think I can get past Pull not working ALL the time, as I saw it work Once when they were cartwheeling as it hit them. However, throwing a Sticky Grenade onto ones back and it having zero effect is just wrong. I mean, wtf? It's a grenade. Stuck to your shoulder blade. How is that not going to turn you into hamburger?

Frankly I'm surprised Overload works on them. Probably because it hits Instantaneously. Sheesh.
