I know that getting cards for weapons you already own levels them up, but I want to know if leveling them does anything other than lower the weight and add 6 spare shots. Is damage effected at all?
A question about weapon levels

No hard evidence from me...but from what I've read over the last few days, you seem to be spot on.
Weapon upgrades lower the weight & I believe ammo capacity. Still, just for the weight reduction I'd grind my favourite weapons to Rank X, faster powers :3!

Yeah. Both my Revenant and Mantis are increasing in clip size. Can't complain really, being able to shoot 64+ bullets in one clip is something I need when facing these mobile Phantoms.

Been asked and answered.
Each level gives you more ammo capacity, lighter weight and more damage.

Ok, thanks. I'm almost dissapointed about the damage thing. Where's the incentive to stop using an "X" weapon and pick up an "I" weapon?themaxzero wrote...

Yeah Damage goes up, spare ammo goes up by a small bit, but weight is effected the most. It's dramatic how far weight lowers in overall the levels. Other stuff, the 'feel' of the gun seems to remain the same though, which is a good thing. I'd rather mods be that.
Seriously though - the weight difference... o.O
-edit-
@ZombieGambit : the damage difference isn't that big, its like a %chance universally for all of them. Widow, for instance, has the biggest shift 800-ish to slightly over 1k at lvl 10.
Ultimately weapons feel different enough, and have there specific advantages that I'd use a weapon that's lower over another simply based off that. My Mattock maybe lvl 10, but lets say Avenger is lvl 5. I'd rather use Avenger due to how it functions for a specific build.
I never once felt like the level difference was really forcing my choice, never occured to me. The biggest change, as I stated above, is the weight. That makes a huge difference and that's mostly cooldown or ability to carry another weapon with little impact.

Weight goes down, you get 6 more spare shots (I think I went from 238 to 244) and apparently damage is increased.Arppis wrote...

It's universal - damage, spare ammo, weight. DMG is small. Spare syncs are... depending on the weapon. Most rifles it adds 1 extra 'reload' from 2-10. Like Avenger goes from 210 spare to 240 spare. Not a huge but it's not that needed. Katana on the other hand goes from 15 to 25 spare shots. But then 15 is rather low in comparison to the AR's.
Revanant doens't make any sense. It holds 60 in, but has 320 spare at base. 20 extra shots for no reason and then at level 10 its 400. Which is 40 spare shots. Whoever did the math on that was drunk.
