hmmmm, aderson and bullhead clarified but its still a bit meager is there really nothing else to go on?
In what respect ?
Arrival is the reason Shepard gets hauled in and conviction explains Vega.
Other than that I'm not aware of anything else prior to ME3. There was supposed to be a trial but it got cut.

Shepard is locked into his quarters with Vega to watch him over until they decide the final verdict and punishment for him, but then the game begins, Comms go dark and the committee realises something big is coming towards Sol. Sudden change of tune and in fear they now call Shepard back to explain this, and the game starts.
Personally, I have no idea why they didnt include this, even in picture forms... the new people coming in are going to be confused as hell.
Why Bioware? Was it too much to add this little thing in the start? Yet you advertise how this game is a wonderful place to start the ME experience. It is not, its the WORST place to start.

Shepard is a Spectre and they are above the law, the really shove that down your face in ME1, so the Alliance has no business judging you or even just holding you for whatever reason...

but my Sharpard would have said: "I am no subject to alliance law, only god will judge me!" and then leave with the Normandy and actually do something about the reaper's arrival instead of sitting around doing nothing.

quite right
and also, it would have been nice to see the trail, now it is only insinuated

The trial that we never see probably goes as you can imagine. Shepard is hauled in front of the committee, they blame him for being with Cerberus and blowing up the Bahak system, among others, and just laugh when he warns them about the reapers. They strip him of his rank and his ship is taken away by the alliance.

Well from a roleplaying point its a key moment where you finally get to give your side of the story after being forced to work for Cerberus (or maybe you wanted to join them) and the events in Arrival in ME2.
It's also a good place to recap while staying "in character".

I imagine if you import "Sh*t you done" becomes "(cerberus hate then ZOMG Batarian System) among other things.
"That **** you pulled" becomes something about a relay.
One line to sum up arrival.

They only show two scenes, maybe three...I have a feeling there's a lot in between those. It seemed to me there were huge questions marks with the trailer. I felt lost, but then I thought to myself "it's a trailer, it's meant to tease you".
I just can't accept that the game starts exactly the way the demo plays out. It has to be different...has to.

I am with you, OP; the intro was less than I wanted. I am hopeful that there will be slight differences in this opening scene for those of us with imports. Could make a big difference. We'll find out in TWO WEEKS : D
There is not. There are a couple of different lines that import players will hear, but there is no extra content. The intro in the demo is the intro in the game. Bioware has confirmed this themselves on the forums, and having listened to all the dialogue, I can tell you that it's true.

So conviction doesn't really answer anything in great detail, most of Bioware and EA marketing for ME3 the last year has been about the trail in the beginning of the game, until recently, but now that is out the window. Seams like they decided to work on MP and the features of Action, RPG and Story mode to make the game more appealing to the mass and get the COD/BF/GOW crowd into ME and said well we really don't have time to put this trail in now because we did so much for MP, so... sorry fans that have been with us since day 1 of ME but we don't care that much about you and your story anymore....MP will make us more fans and money then you.
No. This is not what happened. They cut the trial because they chose to. It was already in the game last year when they were showing it to thre press. It's not a question of moving resources anywhere, they just chose to take it out. I disagree with the choice, but that's not really the point.
