Just wondering if anyone noticed how SMGs tend to be more accurate when firing from cover without pressing the aim button. And how the animations for "in cover" and "out of cover" gets sort of faster.
I was wondering where SMGs fit.
Non of them really do any great damage.
Non of them are accurate enough to consider using for long range fights. Locust is just like the "great wind". Just whoooshhhh.
But then I put the Hornet on my Quarian engineer, and started firing out of cover without aiming. I was surprised.
It was pointless against normal troops.
But agaisnt Centurions and Nemesises, you sort of peeled their shields off rather fast. And from great range. And didnt get exposed to cover that much.
Just thinking here...

firstly if you have an upgraded smg like say a tempest VII with a couple of mods then they tear though enemies with little effort. and secondly i can use them for long range fights, its a case of using a scope and mitigating the recoil.
they arent more accurate when firing blindly its just that they deal with recoil better that way where as tight aim increases the effects of recoil for improved accuracy. the trick is "short controlled bursts"
