Cover your bloody Vanguards!!! They're not going heads first to steal your kills, they're distracting everyone so you can shoot them. Just point your sniper rifle to where the last Nova came from. Lots of easy kills for you...

I do dislike kill stealing to some extent though, one on one, an assault trooper shouldn't be too much trouble for a sensible player. Especially when you have their health down to nothing, and then a shot comes out of nowhere and you get +39 Assist, instead of +242 Kill. These do add up. I'm not about racking up the kills and all that, but the xp difference does annoy me a little. You do get an assist badge if you make enough of them, so that does mitigate it a little.
Leaving mid game though, I am guilty of that sometimes, when it's clear to me that my team is anything but. Etiquette or no, I'm not about to hang about for the next 20 minutes to hack by myself and disable 4 things for freeloaders.
The other thing is some players just don't have common sense, especially about reviving and turrets. I generally try to make my way to a downed teammate if I notice no one is nearby to revive them, and I generally try to take out turrets in dangerous places, after taking care of the engineer of course. I've seen players oblivious to the dangers of a turret because they were so intent of gunning down that assault trooper they didn't notice something was shooting them to death.
Objectives and priority targets. I admit that sometimes I get distracted by other targets during assassination missions, but whenever hacking terminals comes up I'm at the objective. Can't say the same for some of the teammates that I've had the misfortune of playing with. When 3 players are clustered near an objective there has to be the one person who thinks it's a great time to go rack up the kills for themselves. The team generally doesn't bother reviving them when they go down.
Just a few points/rants from my own experience playing mp so far that haven't been mentioned in your thread?

I have to disagree. Vanguards do charge off to do their thing, but it is up to the vanguard to acertain whether the group or his/her partner is following and if not to return asap. It's a fine line Vanguards treed. Fight and die, you're a villian. Fight and win, you're a hero.Butcher_of_Torfan wrote...

-This ones a personal suggestion, but if you have the choice between hanging back and saving yourself while multiple teamates are bleeding out by each other, or taking out that last phantom or atlas at the end of the round, be a sport and go for the self sacrifice. Vanguards are great about this. (god bless those suicidal nuts) I just got impaled by a phantom raising up 2 squadies. At least i died a hero
-At the same time, dont get mad if somebody cant make it to you when you go down. Sometimes its just to far, or theres too many enemies. It sucks, but it happens. Sometimes we just cant get to you.
-Dont Freak out over hearing a womans voice. Its 2012. Women play videogames. Get used to it.
Sometimes I feel guilty when I can't revive a teammate because there's so many dangerous enemies (dear phantoms and your big daddy named atlas, I'm looking at you here) around them. If anyone ever played with me and it happens, I am so sorry. I'll try to survive the wave as I can so you guys can comeback up.
As for the woman's voice... I lol'ed
Apart from that, very good tips OP.

They need to understand that sometimes trying to help them is impossible, it's annoying but it happens, you can't blame someone for not trying to ress someone surrounded with enemies.

It is the timed missions that get me. If there is a upload mission get your $$^^# self to the zone and help the upload. If it is an high value target, move as a group to the target especially if it is the Wave 10 high value targets. If people go down it doesn't matter, finish the flippin'[ missions since that's where the money is.
Oh and when you are waiting, click "ready" it kills me to have squad of 4 and 3 out of 4 are good to go and one nimrod is off making a snack or something.

Most of the people I play with which are from the boards understand it though. As for public with randoms, I'm not sure since my mic is off. I just hope I don't make them angry. We play for fun and will hold the line till the endChriss0978 wrote...

I also saw a troll in the lobby who left in te last second of the countdown before the game starts. Fortunately the countdown starts over when a player leaves.
A bug can also be the reason for this. Sometimes when I join a lobby and ready up there is just an empty space where my name should be or a 0 and I get an error Mass Effect 3 has stopped working/ doesn't react anymore and needs to be closed.

I had more than a few randoms who did not understand. I don't know if I laugh or cry when I hear all the complaining.

This is the sole reason why I try to avoid using my mic, cause everytime I use it people start giving me the royal treatment.
80% of the time, I play infiltrator! I got cloak! I can take care of myself! I don't need you to go tank the person I'm trying to headshot! I don't need you to take the bullets for me, cause 9/10 times you'll be standing in front of my scope! >.<
I also play Sentinel and my build is centered around maximum shields through Fitness and damage reduction through Tech Armor. If anything I should be tanking you, not the other way around.
and lastly I also have an asari adept, centered around maximum Bionic Barrier, maximum power recharge reduction time and bubble stasis. Again here I don't need special treatment, if I'm in trouble I can spam bubble stasis = trouble solved.
Stop giving me the 'Knight in shining armor' routine. Believe it or not, I can actually take care of myself!
And sometimes, I'm even being met with scorn. As if to say I'm going to die on every wave or I can't aim properly.

-Please try not to swear either. Im not against it personaly, I swear like a drunken sailor at home. But online, you may be playing with people who get offended by it. More importantly, you might be playing with children. Not everyone who loves mass effect is in their 20s. I wouldnt want my kids learning new words for homosexuals and female anatomy playing a videogame, and it would royally suck if some kid had his game taken away because his parents heard a string of swearing coming through the TV.
While I tend to agree with the not swearing part, at least if you're in a PUG, I do feel it should be pointed out. This game is rated M, and kids have no business playing it. Even the multiplayer. Period. Full stop. Kids do not really need to see decapitation by shotgun 50 times in 20 minutes.

I'm new to multi-player and I have a question. In the lobbies on XBOX 360 can someone tell me what the Red X and speaker symbol mean when it appears next to someone's character? Sometimes I've seen 2 of these symbols appear next to a character. Is there something we're supposed to do when we see this symbol next to our name or someone elses? I hope I'm not violating some kind of rule when I see this appear.
Red x means someone wants to kick.
Speaker is mic use

Can you explain this a bit more? Are you saying when I see the Red X it is their way of asking us to leave the lobby?

But those four scores are added together and added to everyone's xp. So if you get 30,000 and the next player gets 20,000 or if you both get 25,000, its the same outcome.

the score board is just there to see who is getting points everyone gets the same amount of xp at the end so kill stealing is not a problemButthead11 wrote...
