Hey,

I have a question for the devs (and anyone interested):

why is there no dual wield option for characters that use pistols as their main weapon? i mean those classes get meele combat options (which is IMHO cool - but normally a biotic would IMHO not jump into the fray, instead he would throw his singularities and warps in from well out of meele range!) and it would be much more logical to have those classes dual wield their side-arms (if they train this way) then let them go meele (not that the devs should take the option out as it is cool as a last resort if you are going to to to and your ammo runs out)....

well just an idea: so, your turn ;)

greetings LAX

Because dual-wielding weapons makes correct aiming pretty much impossible, its hard to stabilize recoiling weapons with one hand - its just a waste of ammo and you'll only see that in cheap hollywood movies. A single gun carefully aimed is way more effective.

Dual wield? Reloading would take ages + pathetic accuracy

Plus pistols are already super-powerful as it is. 2 would be overkill.

How would you throw around biotic powers if both of your hands are occupied with overcompensation devices?

While your at it, you might as well suggest dual-wielding shotguns, throwing omni blades, and a Thresher Maw killstreak reward.

Melee: Maybe the rule of cool is more important here than actual credibility. But it also enrichens the gameplay.
Dual-Wielding however would only be "cool" without actually adding something worthwhile to the gameplay.

Dual wield is not needed so stop asking for it.

As a human or asari adept I say: there are situations where biotic heavy melee abilities are extremely useful.

Is this unfriendly bickering actually necessary? He made a suggestion that almost everyone here disagrees with, but did so in a polite and reasonable formulated way. No need for the old "CoD players are stupid and he's one of them" implications.

For the same reason you don't use two mice, two keyboards, two controllers, try to play two games at once, drink from two cups simultaneously, etc. Because most people are not truly ambidextrous. And a lot of people aren't dextrous.

Because as unrealistic as some elements of ME are, Shepard is still a professional soldier. And soldiers don't do that.

I want dual yielding too. Plus I also want my character to hold Thanix cannons in both hands (as miniguns) and I want shielding that lets me laugh off a Reaper attack. Ofcourse I shouldnt have to aim my guns let alone use any sighting. the multicore shielding should instantly spring into effect if my EDI miniature onboard AI found that I was under attack. And I also need blonde cheerleaders who sing my praise and bring palm fronds and a happy meal whenever I kill something on the screen.

What you never dual-boxed in an MMO?  Noob... ;)

I've got no problem w/ dual wielding pistols/small SMGs in games that are all about the movie style action (Max Payne, Hitman, etc.) .  Doesn't seem like a fit in a military game going for some semblance of authenticity though.

Duel-Wielding guns does look awesome yes. But in the real world it's a stupid idea.

I was under the impression that pistols are two handed weapons because of weight and recoil and other stuff (I have never wielded a real gun in his life, but hears things)

I dislike it in every game.
