A letter to bioware

I am a huge fan of your games that I have manage to play. I really enjoyed playing the first knights of the old republic and i went out to buy the first mass effect years ago when I first got an xbox 360. Unfortunately, the bioware that I knew years ago is no more. I know that this is a business so that's why I tolerated the passes for Zaeed in ME2 but what you did with a certain character in ME3 is unexcusable. I understand withholding him from used copy buyers but I'm buying this game new. Making a character, that you deem is worth $10 mind you, an exclusive to the CE is dirty. I'm paying $60 for this game but if i want the "full" experience i have to shell out $10 more and that's not cool. Essential or not, making a character that you had planned from near the beginning a DLC character for ten dollars is absurd. I'm not speaking for everyone here as I'm sure you guys have "loyal" fans that will eat up anything you throw at them but after ME3 I'm not buying anymore bioware games. I have no hatred for you guys, just disappointment.

Is it absurd? You want him. You are probably going to get him. It sounds like a sound business technique to me. Gamers have to learn to differentiate what they want from what they need.
No gamers have been made more docile and susceptible to this type of stuff.

Not really, when they did that for Origns and Mass Effect 2 people still ****ed, so they changed policies into something I personally am not a huge fan of.
Either way, people will complain because they think its wrong, and then buy it anyway because they begrudge it.

Spend £5 on a DLC character or spend £5 on a 6 pack?
answer is simple: spend £5 on a 6 pack

Please. Gamers aren't victims. The dlc is there. Op can buy it or not. The game can be completed with or without the dlc.
And docile? Dlc can't even be mentioned on this forum without the obligatory "but I want it for free" crowd sounding off. How are gamers docile? Because a lot of people buy dlc? Have you stopped to think that maybe, just maybe, people enjoy getting more content that extends the life of games? And maybe, and I know this is way out there, they feel that they are capable of making their own decisions with their money?

What they did for DA:O served a justifiable purpose, this does not. This is content was planned for the game from the beginning, selling it as an extra is simply dishonest and wrong.LinksOcarina wrote...

How come EA can publish good games that are not made by Bioware ?
And what about this ?
Poor Hepler did not exactly help her case, publicly stating: "I just figure they're jealous that I get to have both a vagina AND a games industry job, and they can't get either." Unfortunately, that opened the doors for even more spiteful commentary, because everybody knows you can't defend yourself on the Internet -- especially if you mention that you have a vagina.
Everything seemed to come to a head with studio GM Aaryn Flynn getting involved. After one user called Hepler "the cancer that is killing BioWare," Flynn retorted by calling him a "****ing moron." So now BioWare is accused of treating customers disrespectfully, and the moron in question is going on a crusade and talking about his hurt feelings. Nevermind that he started the insulting tone of the conversation.
Internet trolls sure but if you start insulting your potential customers in that fashion you are just as bad.

Medal
of Honor Airborne. Seriously, awesome game. TOO BAD they decided to
copy CoD right after it. That game was best MoH game around. Also, I
enjoyed Army of Two, even Merceranies 2.
