Please try and avoid the personal attacks, and bias that is completely unfounded. Personally, I disagree with you on that point as EA would prefer the type of person that merely spouted 'you must buy this, you must buy this, you must buy this, no choice about it.'

Rocket simply stated that in the end, it merely comes down to how you want to spend your money. As seen by my profile, I disagreed with Dragon Age II and its various changes, and so I didn't buy it. Sure, it may not have had any effects on the way Bioware does things, but I simply dealt with it.

Now, I pre-ordered the CE edition myself, so I'll be getting FROM ASHES either way, but personally if I hadn't I would have been waiting for someone else to get the DLC, or one of the CE people to make an annoucement on the characters value.

RocketManSR2- you are the type of gamer EA loves. The sheep who don't raise a fuss, and just accept whatever is thrown at them. This isn't like it's Anderson or Hackett as a squadmate. It's a ****ing Prothean! An Enkindler! To decide to have one in the game is making a huge step. To make people pay for it outside of their purchase is shameless greed! EA/BW should be criticized for it. And I doubt this is like Zaeed. You don't write something like this into the lore without it meaning something big(unless you are an idiot).

It's also important to vote with your wallets.

Calling me an idiot. Wow. In any case, I used to be against some of the DLC practices in the industry. The truth of the matter is this: A large company like EA that makes hundreds of millions off of game and DLC sales will not change because I sent them an email saying "Preorder canceled!" One tiny lost sale doesn't mean s*** to them. You either go along with it, or you find a new hobby. /topic

This is one of the few games that I am willing to shell out my hard earned money on. I don't mind spending a few extra bucks on another character(already got the points for it anyway)

BUT that character SHOULD NOT be as shallow as Zaeed, who in the grand scheme really had no purpose in ME2.

I don't think most people would mind spending money on something, just make it worth it....

I'm voting with my wallet and giving my money to Blockbuster. Perk of being a console owner. If I were on the PC I'd find it a really hard choice. I'd really want to see the ending but I'd still feel like I was being ripped off.

You know, I'm sure that the new character is just like Zaeed, there to deliver some automated lines and one more mission. I'm pretty sure they will downplay it's role a lot.

Would kind of suck. Zaeed and Kasumi were alright but they never reached their potential at all.

I have the CE reserved so il be getting it either way to but there's no reason that the dlc shouldn't be included in all new copy's and people who buy used should have to pay 10$ not the people who buy new.

Basically for any of you who still don't get the point. Bioware set out to make a game. Today games cost $60. DLC is supposed to be extra content that is released after the game comes out. The main points of DLC I can see from a player and developer point of view is that if a gamer falls in love with a game, when they finish it and exhaust its content they will want more, and if that developer gives them more they will go for it. Making a game and then setting aside certain content from day 1 as extra content is simply greedy as it serves only to extort gamers who have been eagerly anticipating this game as they have been following the series. I would have to guess that this is mostly EA's doing and that they are deliberately taking advantage of people's love for this series. This is why we have DLC coming with all the extra little pieces of merch that EA is spitting out as marketing campaigns.

If you're not willing to buy any games because of DLC, you're not gonna be able to play many ones. I know it's sad, but its the standard these days.

What good games have EA published?

From current generation: Dead Space 1 and 2, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, FIFA, Battlefield BC2 and 3, Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning, Crysis 1 and 2, Mirrors Edge...I'm sure there are more I don't remember now.

I just got back into W40K because this game (story and plot wise) WILL suck a*s. And Its all thanks to Bioware for being EA's ballsu*ker.

They have chosen to make the multiplayer segment the $10 dollar purchase in question for those who buy used, rather then a character that many may or may not actually wanted. Whether or not that was the correct decision is something I don't feel like arguing but personally I prefer if they did it the way I suggested in my new sig, if only so that proper decisions could be made rather then a day one 'MUST BUY OR EBAY EVEYTHING' impulse that some have.

Okay, maybe they should just delay the release of the DLC for people who buy the standard edition, and just have it in the CE for the time being?..... No that probably wouldn't satisfy you either, so maybe include it with every copy and that would devalue the proposition of the collector's edition (the price of which has gone up about 50% between ME2 CE and ME3 CE), but you don't mind that because that wouldn't effect you as a Std edition buyer.... or in fact nevermind, we'll release it on day 1, take it out and devalue the collector's edition and then at least everyone's on the same page......

W40K? .... and you call out EA for milking franchises for as much money as they can get.... Games Workshop wrote the book on it.

I don't understand why people are whining about this DLC, there will probable be another online pass thing like ME2 and every other EA game, and free stuff will be given away again like in ME2. Now if they charged for the online pass even after buying the game new, then I would be upset if I just shelled out $60+ for a game and still had to pay another $10+ just to play it.

Dlc is supposed to be additional content. Period. There is no rule that declares dlc MUST be post release. Furthermore, extort? Are you serious? Does EA lock you out of the game if you don't purchase the dlc? No. The dlc is there. You can decide whether it's worth your ten dollars or not.

Thats fine and dandy but they don't produce enough CE's. This is why it should be free to download. If they produced enough CE's then fine.

This is why I prefer CE's with "toys" rather than game elements. I've got my Troll from WitN but someone who only got the regular game still got everything I got as far as the game was concerned.

Stick a Shepard figure , or better yet a Tali in the CE . All this DLC stuff is just a cheap gimmick.

Medal
of Honor Airborne. Seriously, awesome game. TOO BAD they decided to
copy CoD right after it. That game was best MoH game around. Also, I
enjoyed Army of Two, even Merceranies 2.

I have never bought any EA published game nor a game from a company under EA other than bioware so i can't really comment on whether those games are good or not.

Once again I am going to disagree with your choice of language. Swearing and abuse never solves any problems with companies, as it causes the mods and people in charge to automatically label you in the 'not our marketing niche' segment. I would also like to point out that for the cost of buying a decent sized Warhammer 40k army, you could pratically buy every game Bioware has released in the last five years, as well as every obscure piece of DLC that came with random stuff.

Gamesworkshop's Business practises make  EA look like the Humble Indie bundle, you just don't hear about that bebcause Gamesworkshop is servicing a dying niche by making their practises worse and worse and simply forcing more people out.

From what I understand, that leak was far from complete. It's still not enough to judge the game on. I started to read, but stopped.
