Basically for any of you who still don't get the point. Bioware set out to make a game. Today games cost $60. DLC is supposed to be extra content that is released after the game comes out. The main points of DLC I can see from a player and developer point of view is that if a gamer falls in love with a game, when they finish it and exhaust its content they will want more, and if that developer gives them more they will go for it. Making a game and then setting aside certain content from day 1 as extra content is simply greedy as it serves only to extort gamers who have been eagerly anticipating this game as they have been following the series. I would have to guess that this is mostly EA's doing and that they are deliberately taking advantage of people's love for this series. This is why we have DLC coming with all the extra little pieces of merch that EA is spitting out as marketing campaigns.

Dlc is supposed to be additional content. Period. There is no rule that declares dlc MUST be post release. Furthermore, extort? Are you serious? Does EA lock you out of the game if you don't purchase the dlc? No. The dlc is there. You can decide whether it's worth your ten dollars or not.

^ That choice should only apply to used buyers period.

I don't understand why people are whining about this DLC, there will probable be another online pass thing like ME2 and every other EA game, and free stuff will be given away again like in ME2. Now if they charged for the online pass even after buying the game new, then I would be upset if I just shelled out $60+ for a game and still had to pay another $10+ just to play it.

The problem is that there is no online pass, they are just making you pay for it now.

I see no entitlement in his post at all and hes right all new copy's should have the prothy dlc and obviously if you buy used you fork over 10$.

Paradox. This post has its fair share of entitlement.

For one, you say that every new copy "SHOULD" have a new character, but you don't provide any ration argument other than "But I want it!".

Thats fine and dandy but they don't produce enough CE's. This is why it should be free to download. If they produced enough CE's then fine.

They produced enough of their LIMITED Collector's Edition to keep it LIMITED. A lot of people (like me) rushed to preserve their copies. If you wanted day one dlc you should have reserved early. Now you have to make the decision about whether the dlc is worth the money. The kind of decision adults make. All the time. About things that are actually important.

OP, I think something is wrong with your computer. The e-mail letter you meant to send to the devs was accidentally sent to the public fan forums. You may want to make sure this was cc'd to the developers' emails as well. I admit, it felt slightly voyeuristic reading your views addressed to the makers of the game. But I take responsibility for that.

Can't say I completely agree with your views, but again, this letter wasn't addressed to me. Best of luck.

Your wrong there is an online pass for ME3 just like ME2 only this time its the Alliance Network instead of Cerberus Network.

That $10 is the online pass. It comes with the DLC character and mission.

An "online pass" is for making money off people who buy used, making everyone pay for it defeats the entire purpose.

The online pass in ME3 is access to multiplayer is it not? And even achievements have been designed so they are doable without even going anywhere near multiplayer, so presumably if you buy it second hand you can still get full achievements/trophies without buying the online pass.

The From Dust DLC is actual "buy it or don't" DLC, not the online pass, as far as I am aware

This character should most definitely be free for everyone who buys a new copy of the game. Both collector's and regular editions. Give people incentive to buy new, do not try to gouge them for more. This is despicable, no matter how you slice it.

Well i have the CE reserved so it doesn't affect me but wanting people to pay 10$ for a dlc that in fact SHOULD be in the new copy is wrong period they way they handled the zaeed thing imo was perfect this is just dumb.

RocketManSR2- I wasn't calling you an idiot. I was Fallon the writer who would include a character like this into the story just to do it. Or because it sounded like a good idea. I apologize if that was unclear in my post. It was not directed at you but at BW.

Double paradox.
Even this post has its fair share of entitlement.

You say that every new copy should have it. Again. You are not explaining why. Period?

It has been stated several times, both in this and other topics that there is already an incentive to buy new. Its known as the Alliance Pass/Multiplayer. If you don't want multiplayer, wait several months, get the same second hand and use the money you saved to support them buy getting the character then. If your not prepared to spend $60 + $10 for a character that comes on day one, then wait until day 51 and get it for $20 or $10 + $10, or wait until a gold member sale.

The advantage of waiting is that you'll have the reviews from people who have already gotten the DLC and will have a great deal more information on whether or not its a Shale or a Zaeed.

The incentive to buy the game new is the online pass already included. This is additional content. Additional content that will be included in your CE (which you paid more for).

As Phaedon said. No one can come up with a reason for why this dlc should be free other than: I want it.

Bioware is eating fine stake and tossing money in the air at this very moment while you posted this.

And then anally penatrating their customers. Some people, like you, will take it with a smile, others, might not be too keen.

I have read the spoilers.

From what I understand, that leak was far from complete. It's still not enough to judge the game on. I started to read, but stopped.

The newer ones have more in them (there were 3 of them). Plus the demo has some new spoilers in it.

Why?

Because there buying a second hand copy that would not have the redeem-able code to get the dlc that the person who bought the new copy got that's why that's how they did it with zaeed and that's how they should have done this one its pathetic.

By offering them a product who they may choose to buy or not to buy. To first allow someone to, as you eloquently put it "anally penetrate you" and then not be too keen about it, is exactly the same as anally penetrating yourself and then crying about it.

Its a COLLECTORS Edition. A LIMITED collectors edition, the whole point of it being a LIMITED COLLECTORS edition is that there are only LIMITED Numbers printetd out, hence why they sell out so far. It just so happens that Bioware seems to be the first company in a while that understands the point of what a collectors edition is meant to have/be.

If you didn't get one, then you'll know to be faster next time.

I know. Limiting the number of their LIMITED Edition is extremely fishy. We should burn Bioware to the ground.Posted Image

Nvm, forgot this is the first ME to actually have online. I see that the $10 is separate, but it's just how the industry is. Sending hate-filled emails to the companies won't change anything. Making pointless topics about it on fan forums definitely won't help the cause. I'm a consumer who wants the product and am willing to pay. I will not be called an idiot for that.
