So, back when ME2 launched, I recall that there was some kind of issue where players who had their ME1 game saves imported to different 360s than they originally created them on (since, let's face it, these things die) couldn't load their ME1 data to ME2.

Will ME3 have the same problem?

I ask because, low and behold, my 360 commited honorable seppuku, and I had to get a new box. Now, I DID use the HDD transfer kit to copy all of my data and liscences, which may mean... something?

If I have to play through ME2 again, I'd like to know now while there's still time ;)

Seeing as ME3 will likely read an actual save file (a la ME2 NG+) then you should be alright.

The ME1>ME2 issue arrose because ME2 read the hidden autosave made at the end of the game, which wasn't transferable in the event of console death. The simple workaround was to load the last ME1 autosave and play out the finale again, thus creating a new hidden save for ME2 to read with all your decisions intact.

But yeah, ME2>ME3 should be fine so long as the actual save files are intact.
