A lot of games these days don't have manuals. Its just so easy to make a digital one. Saves paper.

As for the "missing" manual: meh, I've gotten used to that years ago. Since the advent of games being shipped in DVD boxes, manuals are more or less a waste of paper, anyways. Every gamer should be capable of installing a product without further instructions, and the mini-booklets had too few pages to incorporate anything beyond the most basic advice.
Proper manuals need proper boxes, but that is an era long gone. May as well skip it entirely rather than producing these atrophied small cousins of a booklet.

Just because others don't do it, doesn't make it better or even somehow less sh'''y for Bioware to do this too...

This has made me so much happier than a reversible insert ever should. It's kind of embarrassing, actually.

If it had shipped 50/50, that would have been a really impressive move on BW's part. Still, it's better than nothing.AngryFrozenWater wrote...
I think flipping the cover yourself is a horrible idea. FemShep is still hidden this way and thus nothing has been gained.

Unless when your next in Game you sneakily flip all the covers in the display boxes around to FemShep
Honestly its amazing to have. For ME2 all FemShep got was four screenshots a couple weeks prior release. Now she is on a reversable cover on every box on every platform!! Its a staggering achievement! Plus it shows how awesome Bioware is in changing what everyone thought was a set in stone stance!
