Hey all, totaly not mass effect related. Ok a bit! but some of you guys have really nice looking avatars in your profile. how do you do that?

It's easy.
1. Download the DA Character Creator.
2. Make your avatar! The image needs to be:
a) A square 146x146 pixels.
Preferably not much more than 40kb in size.
c) Saved as a PNG image.
d) Named whatever you like, but preferably short and the name must end "_portrait". For example, my current avatar is "VV_portrait".
There are plenty of photo editing programs out there, but even something as basic as paint works.
3. Place the avatar image in the folder called "Pre-release Characters" which you can find in your documents folder. Go into Documents then 'BioWare' then 'Dragon Age'.
4. Right-click the image go into properties and click "Read only". After that choose properties again, click the security tab and then "edit". From there, deny SYSTEM access to the image by checking the right side row of boxes. (You only have to check the top one).
Apply the changes, and you're set!
5. Open the CC, log in, and create a new character. Looks and background don't matter of course, but make sure it has the same name as the avatar (but without the "_portrait" bit).
6. Click "upload". You're done!
It can take a while for the avatar to appear, an hour or more is common, but if you think the delay is too great, just log back in to the CC, choose "modify character" and press upload again.
