my first playthru I did almost none of them. I seem to be terrible at making the right dialogue choices it seems (never could romance lelianna- she sure is one tough nut to crack). I did the Wynn one. That one is surprisingly easy. What is the Morrigan one?- killing Flemith? If so, then I did that one. I also had Lelianna in my party, but she never said anything the entire game.

Right now I have Ogrhen, shale, and Lelianna (soon to be zhev when his encounter comes). What are their quests. I hear shale has something in deep roads, but it hasn't activated yet apparantly. I'm in caradin's cross right now. Do I have to be in Ortan's thaig?

Any help is appreciated. thanks.

Well, how spoilerish do you want it? The least spoilerish way to describe getting them to initiate their personal quest was to just talk to them endlessly, pump up their affection value or if its Sten I found not talking to him and spamming gifts was significantly safer and quicker.

Letsseee....

Alistair - Meeting his half sister

Morrigan - Finding her mothers grimoire

Leliana - Confronting her former teacher/master

Sten - Finding his sword

Oghren - Finding an old flame

Shale - Finding the her home thaig

Wynne - Finding a former student

Zevran - Confronting another member of the Crows

Dog - Nothing. :(

I think that's everyone.

Pretty much all of them are started by raising their approval and then picking specific dialogue options with them. The exception to this would be Morrigan who requires a certain gift to start her personal quest. Some of them are more of a right place/right time thing too, though their dialogue usually hints at where and when this is.

Hope that wasn't too spoilerish for anyone :P

Is Zevs only that random encounter in Denerim where you get jumped by some crows? I spent awhile gouging my eyes out and raking furrows down my cheeks ( and by that I mean talking to him), but I never got him to unlock anything else. Shales is the best imo, some of the others "quests" are just 2 min dialogues with some random NPC.

Trying to think of ways to say it without saying it is proving more difficult than I initially thought so alphabetically.

Alistair:
For Alistair, talk to him once you hit Denerim, if he gets talking about his family follow the conversation.

Dog: (What you named it)
Well, you can get him to urinate on "landmarks", other than that I haven't seen a go and visit his brood of hellhound puppies he fathered with the Broodmother quest or anything but its only Dragon Age #1, they need to hold something back for #2.

Leliana:
For Leliana, it just seemed to happen because I was ambushed as a "random" event leading into the quest although looking at the protagonist of her story I would guess it was initiated by discussing her life prior to the chantry.

Morrigan:
Morrigan was very strait forward, I found a Grimoire "book gift" when in the mages tower, on giving it to her in camp she says she is going to study it, keep talking to her every other time your in camp and it should escalate.

Oghren:
I don't remember a specific start to Oghren's, he literally interrupted me somewhere with a cut-scene to talk about it so I went from there, might have just been an approval thing and something I did during normal gameplay bumped him over the "hey whipping boy, do this for me" threshold.

Shale:
For Shale just do the main quest line, once you go through with her either in your party or at camp talk to her after doing the "Paragon of Her Kind" quest in stuntiville, its unavoidable from what I saw unless you simply never go and collect her to begin with.

Sten:
Pain in the backside as far as I can see, any conversation I had with him seemed to result in +1 at best, -## at worst, after finding/giving him a bunch of junk I dared to risk talking to him in camp and he seemed more receptive, he started whining about his "Sword of Truthiness" (to paraphrase).

Once I went and threatened some mean people for poor old Sten and got him his shiny back that seemed to be it.

Wynne:
Wynne was also pretty random, just got it in a cut-scene from a random encounter, may well be another approval rating = pop the quest thing.

I was also left unsure of if I actually completed that quest despite my quest log being marked as done, it just didn't feel like it was a closed topic/situation.

Zevran:
For Zevran your guess is as good as mine, I don't recall ever getting a specific quest from him although wandering around Denerim seemed to initiate a "Zev" specific ambush, he even appeared during this even though he was not a part of my party at the time and I had left him in camp so as it stands no idea if that was his personal quest or not.

He who shall not be named:
All I'll say is, I let Alistair kill him every time, no intention of not killing him any time soon.

Sorry that took so long, like I said, trying to state spoilers without using spoilers proves tricky for me.

Oh and If I omitted anything, incorrectly stated anything etc hopefully someone will post a correction.

i have managed to speak to zev enough that he talks about one regret he had killing someone and spiting on them and the random encounter happens to be the person he was with at the time so i assume it is, unfortunately i think you need 95 like or more to get that last chat about his adventures to discover this info and more often than not the random encounter, which is not so random as it happens at the same time in every game, is triggered before the chat so its significance is not always realised until later, which is a shame
