For Bronze, anything goes. For Silver, I dont bother unless theres 4 people of atleast 12's, but I've started to feel it might not be needed because a couple of games ago me in a team of 20's decimated Silver in no time, so maybe its not as hard as I thought.

As for gold, I dont think I've ever played it, I usually get in a lobby of level ones who think they're beast.

What do you guys go for?

The last time I tried silver with a group of level 10+'s it didn't end well. Though I encountered the "no hotkeys" bug so it was kind of a 3 man team. I'm not exactly keen on the extra stress right now since nothing carries over, I'm just experimenting with everything right now.

10+ for Silver, 15+ preferably for Gold IMHO, though the most I've ever got to on Gold is wave 6

Bronze is a cakewalk, anything
Silver, depends on what weapons you have, level 15 if you're with relatively badly equipped people, Level 10 if they've played enough to unlock good weapons(ie, rank X weapons, widow any level, carnifex III+, etc)
Gold, level 16 with decent weapons at least. Must have maxed out an ability that works well with the rest of the team. Talk to the other gold runners, make sure you have a plan for what to take if you're not all playing as level 20's with upper tier weapons.

I'd go with 7+ for Silver and 15+ for Gold, and that's only if you have some higher levels in the group to help carry the weight.

At the end of the day it all relies on how well everyone can do their job, however there is a point where a low level char just doesn't have the hp or power talents to survive and has to hide behind cover 95% of the time while waiting for shields to regen so they don't get 1 shot.

And if you're out of combat 95% of the time, you're not carrying your weight.

Most Gold players only use on or two talents (Stasis Bubble for Asari, Charge + Nova for Vanguard, Tech Armour for Sentinel, Drone/Flamethrower Turret for Engineer) as such it i possible for skilled Level 14 (who can have ~~2 skillsmaxed and a thirds on its ways) character to pull his weight and do some damage. This can also apply for Silver as SOME Level 1 player do great in Silver (I played with a Soldier called SensaiJoseph once, I tried to kick him but the others wouldn't so we played. He finished second behindme and my Asari Adept...

This.  I've been in some very successful silver groups that had level 4-6, N7 8  people (well, at first; they went up fast), but those guys were good.  Most players aren't, so they need those extra levels for the health, shields and more powerful abilities.

Depends on class and build. Generally I'd say don't do silver with a character lower than level 10 and gold with a character lower than level 17.

I like a challenge though so I don't really care if we end up with a N7 rank 1, level 1 character in a silver game but I've seen plenty of people leave the game without even trying. All a team needs to beat silver is a single competent person, the rest of the team could be low level folks new to the game but as long as they stuck together they'd be fine.

Some of the most fun I've had so far has been on Silver with someone playing literally their first game of ME3 co-op. I started one game and between the lobby and the actual game two of my team bailed leaving me with a level 1 who was probably only there because he assumed the game would start him on the easiest difficulty. We duo'd to wave 10 before we got messed up by one of the area protection objectives.

Lol? Infiltrator with cloak damage bonus + Claymore + disrupter ammo will 1 shot every enemy in gold with the exception of an atlas. I'm not trying to brag just stating a fact. Go try it out for yourself and you'll see how faceroll it really is.

And anyone who doesn't believe me by all means add my GT and I'll do a gold wave with you when I'm off work tonight, I think I'm up to lv 6 now so that should still be low enough to prove how OP the class+weapon combination is.

I don't think level matters too much on Silver , it's more about the player/players . The first time i completed Silver i was a level 7 engineer , entered the game on level 1 with an invite so i didn't know until the end that we were on Silver . I only needed revived twice through that playthrough . Since then i've failed a load of times on Silver with high rank and low rank players , i guess it's how you play that really counts.

Course not. A krogan doesn't need to hide anything. Thought about wearing my lucky g-string, but showing off your quad is just way more badass.

Oh, and on a sidenote: I obvioulsy haven't soloed gold,but shouldn't this earn you more exp than just from lvl4 to lvl6?

It wasn't a full solo of gold just that 1 wave but my team got picked off rather early in the wave, I think an atlas and a few basic troops were down so I just started stealthing and popping off the remaining 20-30 enemies.  With damage+range augments on the claymore it's practically a sniper rifle with how ridiciously accurate it gets.  Wave 4 I ended up having to do the same thing from turrets destroying the rest of the squad but got gibbed about 2 minutes into the solo by a frag without any medis left. 

I'm on xbox and don't exactly have the set-up to record or stream it but like I said add my GT: Fightincowboy

Yeah probably not. Still I prefer multi-platform forums. Way easier that going to gamefaqs and trying to jump between PC,Xbox,PS3 boards trying to find active people for an answer.

So much depends on the composition of the party that the "level" that I like to see can fluctuate a LOT.

As a rule of thumb though:

Bronze ... Anything goes because ... [lets face it] there isn't a lower difficulty setting to go through ... I am happier to see at least one or 2 people at L8+

Silver ... I prefer everyone L13+. This is certainly NOT needed for good players / good teams but considering the randomness of matchmaking I think this is good.

Gold ... I prefer everyone L17+.

Any class can finish off a wave, and a turtling character like infiltrator can be done easily.

Problem is soloing gold on hacking missions etc
