Most of the reviews/mini reviews of this game seem to be from console versions of the game.  Almost universally it seems that there has been some complaints in some areas in the graphics department.

Is there a big difference in the PC version of the game vs the console version of the game or is it simple a "port" to PC?   Can any Bioware employees confirm there are graphic differences on the PC vs the console?

PC > Console

Sadly, PC pirates are killing the PC market. Just like Xbox 360 flashers are beginning to stir up anger from 360 developers.

the only complaints I read regarding the pc graphics is that the landscapes aren't as good as the interiors. But still they are able to draw great distances. Depending on if your computer can handle it.

there are bound to be graphical differences if not improvements. Take for example Mass Effect - faster load times and significantly less "texture" pop-in all result from the quality of PC hardware.

I'm sure there are quite a few improvements beyond load times, higher resolution textures and doubt it's "just a port".

We'll find out Tuesday though :)

Unless I am mistaken, this game was developed on a PC first. So its not a port at all.

Its a PC port to consoles, not the other way around. That said, the PC version will have better visuals without doubt unless your settings are below medium. Id hunt down the dev quotes but there are so many of them its not necessary because everyone knows the differences. But the developers said that: Console visuals = PC visuals on medium settings.

PC is potentially better than console, and potentially worse, depending on hardware.  But that is just the objective side of graphics (# of triangles, lighting effects, resolution, etc.).  There is also a subjective side (the artwork, animation work, etc.) that will be pretty much the same (AFAIK).

That would be excellent if a high end PC does see huge improvements over a console.

I won't start the huge piracy debate here but it's BS... Starcraft was pirated to death and it is still a huge seller. Same with Sims. Same with Eminems albums. All broke records, all pirated to death. If piracy were the true enemy, there would be no tapes. No CDs. No DVDs. No games at all.

Either way, I will be buying a legit copy of the PC version of Dragon Age. That is all I can do is offer my support.

PC is better by a long shot with the right hardware, and dont let anyone tell you that the PC market is dying. Its doing great - and having titles like DA:O made primarily for PC justs prooves it.

im sure it will look better on a high end computer, what else would be the point of pouring all the extra money into one.

If the pirating stopped they would see a rather small increase in sales. The thing about Pirates is, if they cant get it for free theyre not getting it at all, with a few exceptions.

Ever played Mass Effect @ 1900x1200 resolution with all the eye candy? Astonishing. Absolutely floored the first time I tried it.

PC has better hardware, better controls, and better setup flexibility.

The only thing it doesn't have is a playerbase that's willing to pay for games instead of stealing them.

360 is easy as crap to hack, and it gets easier every day. and console games dont need keys, you just burn them and thats it. So some might say pirating for the Xbox is easier than pirating for PC.

Utter bull.

Assassin's Creed was pirated several million times and sold, what, ~10K copies on PC (before the recent $5 Steam sale anyway) vs millions on console.  If you look out there, ATI and Nvidia are selling a heck of a lot more gaming cards than ever buy any game -- and they're not all going to play WoW.

Every single person who has access to the numbers thinks your suggestion is fantasy -- and you can tell, because they are leaving the PC market as fast as they possibly can.  Games that *are* released on PC get delayed on this platform for a very obvious reason.  If EA's gamble on DA (this site+DLC) works, that would be something, but make no mistake -- it's pretty much the last hope for real PC development.

Sure, if you never want to use Live.  That's pretty stupid.

of course the pc is better mostly. you get what you pay for mostly. consoles do atleast have the assurence that the games they buy will work on their system though.

only part thats harder about console pirating is your console is going to get banned so you cant play online anymore ect. plus you actually have to find a pirated copy somewhere and normally buy it at a discount from them. so sitting in a dark room downloading a file, isnt excatly the same thing. not that they arent both very wrong.

Pc dominate graphics just because of hardware if you have it, also note on the pc market dying, well it isnt and just to note when they count pc sales they never count digital only store sales so d2d, steam and impulse are never counted in sales.

This couldn't have had anything to do with Assassin's Creed being a **** game, could it?  $5 is reasonable but people aren't going to pay $50 for that crap on a PC.

Why do you keep saying this as if you believe it?

Getting banned from Live barely happens. Microsoft just says they will ban you because they hope it deters people, but in reality MW2 was leaked 3 weeks ago and everyone is already playing it while MS can't do **** about it.

Those recent "bans" haven't been working to well as far as I hear. Some people who don't pirate got banned, and some that do didn't. I personally know two people who are not inner circle friends who flashed their Xbox and still have access to live.

/shrug I dont use Live, but thats mostly due to internet issues. If your not playing games that require multiplayer then consoles still make good gaming machines, and theyre a lot cheaper(argueable depending on how many games you buy).

The attitude of 90% of pirates is that if they cant get a game for free they certainly arent about to pay for it if for some reason its not piratable, unless its a title theyre really really wanting.

Microsoft doesn't ban right after it detects -- you know this.

*puts up hand up*... yep In my defense i only pirated it because it was a crap game. I am buying this one because it will be excellent.

PC gaming is coming to an end, although the sad thing is piracy can be stopped. It just requires too much online verification mumbo jumpo. The problem is that games need to be able to be played offline. Thus piraters can work their magic. If all games require you be connected to the internet, then it would be a lot harder.
