I dastardly hope their wives wont allow them and they pass this beta event to me.

But sorta miffed at ArenaNet right now, I don't mind not getting it at this point.
Miffed because of the RMT.
They were bragging so much about being able to sustain an AAA MMO off sales alone, and they end up bringing in a RMT that's by far the worst I've seen yet.
In a nutshell, you buy "gems". With real money.
You exchange gems for gold, in game.
You buy anything you want from shops.
Complete idiocy.

They may have said that at the time of GW1 but AFAIK they've always said there would be RMT involved in GW2. A mmo with the investment GW2 would have had would clearly need more than just box sales to sustain it and provide a return.
Not IMHO when you consider the game we're getting without subscription fees. This is not like what happened with EVE.Corto81 wrote...

..Not calling it a bad decision as such or anything. No reason why it couldn't be exiting and tons of fun. Just that it..bothers me they make the self reliancy sound like some giant leap of evolution.

No, they never said anything about allowing RMT before the recent blog-post about micro-transaction. If you're sure they did, provide proof in the form of a link to your source.
I'm with Corto on this one. RMT means Pay2Win, and there's no way I'm getting GW2 as long as they keep that line.

They've explicitly guaranteed that it won't be like that.

Bioware told me they wouldn't have a generic ending.
Still I'll give ANet the benefit of the doubt.

Game is solid&fun at first look. I got lost in large scale battles/event(i blame too much alcohol after a hard work day, it was really friday the 13th for me)
Played as a axe&warhorn necro amd loved it. Also tried staves, they seem to have more aoe and debuffing/minions. Not appeling for me as axe&off hand but maybe at later levels where i got every skill opened.
Well im doomed yet again
