We're not discussing if he should be day 1 DLC or not, we're discussing about him being important to the plot, which he isn't.

Even if he doesn't reveal anything important, the fact remains that there's an actual living, breathing, talking and probably likes to shoot things Prothean.

The problem with day one DLC of cut content similar to the missing Prothean character is simple:

Not everyone has access to the internet who will play these games.

Its as simple as that. This character is nothing like Zaheed, he will be a heavily story important character, because of the Prothean-centric storyline. Everything that has happened from the first 12 seconds in Mass Effect 1 has been sculpted after Protheans; everything!

Cutting something like this from the game is literally stabbing those less-than-fortunate gamer's in the heart and telling them to bleed out, that no one would miss them anyway if their hard earned coin was spent. It's manufacturer negligence and it's disgusting.

Ok so how would you buy the DLC then without knowing what it is? I really don't see how thats a spoiler as its impossible to even play that part of the game without knowing ahead of time unless you had someone else download it for you....

You forgot about The Conduit, Liara (prothean Reasearcher), The Keepers, and The Reapers who were fumbled by the Protheans not once, but multiple times.

Zaeed added backstory about the blue suns... that didn't make him any less of a throw away character, saying that hes a critical component of the story because he adds back story on a race that is only marginally relevant to the overall plot is retarded.

Does he add things? sure are you unable to beat the game or understand the overall arching plot without him? no

My guess is that there will be other living protheans that play a more vital part in the story, and that this DLC squadmate will really just be a bonus character with a minor back story and side mission. Atleast thats what im sorta hoping for since i absolutly refuse to pay more money for something that should already be on the disk to begin with(assuming this "dlc" was created prior to the game going gold, obviously it was).

It's damn near impossible to argue that he isn't important, I mean he's a prothean, the only one too. Will he be as big as James generic soldier guy or the original team? Nope. But, he will be a squad mate, and considering that all but 3 can be dead at the start he will be quite important.

I might get the DLC. The fact that it was released BEFORE the actual game just screams that they cut a chunk out to make an extra 10 spot at release.
