Died, wave 4. 
Phantom melee stab. Just couldn't take them down fast enough. got 2 of them with the widow, 1 went to cover after her barrier went down but the other 2 just advanced relentlessly. First units in the wave as well.

Level 18 Quarian Engineer 
Carried Widow with extra ammo + extra damage mods and an Avenger X with extra ammo + stabiliser 
Equipment used was warp rounds II, power efficiency module II, sniper rifle rail amp II. 

Maxed Sentry Turret with Flamerthrower and AP ammo. 
Maxed Incinerate on max damage path. 
Maxed Quarian Defender, with power recharge buffs and 10% damage boost instead of SMG weight reduction. 
Level 3 Cryo Blast
Level 2 in fitness.

Edit, forgot I leveled my engineer up yesterday.

NECRO THREAD: I've now soloed gold with multiple classes and varied loadouts. Others may continue to post screens/videos of their attempts.

Died wave 4 as well, only to sentinels, they overrun me.

soloing is so random, if you get a defend or assassinate special mission you are pretty much screwed, even if you can survive the waves.

I find defend or assasinate the best, as long as it's not assasinate 4 Atlas mechs in a row or defend this point while we spawn enemies behind you to the side and in front of you(extraction zone on either map is horrific for being easy to overrun).

Just wait for the full game.  You can carry 10 items each into the game (if you got enough unlock cards).

Yeah again it is kinda based on luck. It depends on where the assassination targets spawn and what they are. And then it depends where you have to defend. If you have to defend the room with the stairs on Firebase White then you have a chance. The lower level area on that map which is completly open, good luck. I've had whole teams go down trying to defend that area. It might also be play styles. If you use a sniper rifle some people are great shots with them, i'm kinda streaky so sometimes it can take me a little longer to assassinate.

I'd post videos of successful Gold solos if someone could give me some advice on how to inexpensively record watchable quality X360 footage.  I've done it with several different classes and I know I can do it again.

Defend circle and assassinate target objectives are actually the easier ones for soloing, IMHO.  It's device activation objectives that are the real threat (unless you're an infiltrator).  You basically just have to hope that no enemy
shows up to shoot you for the several seconds you are stuck doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.  And if one shows up, you have to start all over.  Again and again.  The bad luck factor is a lot worse than with the other two kinds of objectives.

Device activation ones can be flat out impossible sometimes. They are the most dangerous thing for soloing.

Killing targets I find to be the easiest. You can maneuver as you see fit, and always have consumables if you need to get risky.

Ok, it is a necro thread, but it is an attempt thread
Managed to get to wave 9 with lvl 1 human infiltrator without anything but stealth. Reactor, Cerberus.
Claymore 9 as a weapon. Did not spent a single missile, used 1 revival pack until wave 9.
Took me 2 hours of gameplay, was extremely tired at the end. No cigarettes too
I would make it to the end, but two hours of not stopping pressure is a bit too much for me.
Recorded vid, if anyone needs it. Though i doubt anyone watching it, it is long and boring as hell

First try got through wave 3 gold, was so stressful though that I didn't bother again.

SI w/ GPS V against reapers no upgrades did use a rocket though on 3.
