Krogan when specced with defense spec is about the only time i can imagine this viable.

But i imagine shotties would be better if your only going to do hipfiring. Not to mention the Revs silly long reload time.

I changed my mind twice yesterday about the rev. I built my turian with all the stability mods and used the rev exclusively from level 1 to 20. After reading everyone posts I switched to AR on solo bronze just to see the difference. The accuracy was astounding I was shooting guardian through the mailslot from across the board. I ended up soloing bronze through wave eight before phantom number 2 surprised me. That left me thinking I am leaving the rev at home. I then played a wave of gold with a team that got overrun and I could not put guys down fast enough and I was thinking I really want my rev

If I am solo and need long range accuracy I want an AR. If I need to face a phantom, atlas or a hoard give me the rev every time. So I am back to my rev, I think it is a much better team weapon for silver and gold.

To me it seems like all the Gold weapons suck, except the Carnifex. The Revenant is a less accurate Avenger with a bigger magazine. The Hornet is a slower Shuriken with a smaller magazine. The Widow has an insanely slow rate of fire that punishes any missed shot. The Claymore has a slow rate of fire and tiny magazine that's not really worth the added damage, at least to me.

Just unlocked the Revenant, and its pretty fun. Though I'm using a lv 5 stability dampener (70.00% stability), in addition to using it with my Turian Sentinel. I'd say its pretty badass. I won't be snipeing anyone with it, but just wading into battle shooting everyone in my way especially with Cryo/Disruptor Ammo is just too badass of a feeling.

Although I've been testing it out on Bronze so I may change my tune when I try a Silver game.

Heavy Machine guns are meant to be used for suppressive fire or to defend a post. It's a way to keep enemies from advancing in your direction by pinning them down to whatever cover they can find. While they are down another team is to flank them and attack from a position where the enemy is no longer in cover.

However, these Cerberus folk are crazy and will keep coming at you. Also there are only four players on the field and normally you are not defending a position.

So the weapon doesn't work the way I think it is suppose to. It's not meant to be a Rambo style kill everything in the room weapon. And since it doesn't work the way it is suppose to, then it's not very effective.

You can spray and pray, but really just grab a Mattock. You will do more damage, hit your target more often, conserve ammo, and you will fire as fast as your finger can click.

The only reason I use the Revenant is because of the fun factor. It's quit funny to hear that monstrous sound of the gun and the wiggle of the whole screen.

I like it but it seems really underpowered to me. It was a monster in ME2 and one of my favorite guns in the whole game, plus it was pretty accurate when bursting but now even with burst fire i'm only getting assists with it. I'm still going to use it for now but I really wish they would give it more damage

The Revenant is crap. It works on bronze because enemies are super weak there, but beyond that it's completely useless.

It's weird, I hated the Revenant in ME2 but find it combines quite well with a Krogan soldier in MP. Maybe it just comes down to play styles but at medium to long range I have no problems racking up kills on Silver so long as I don't do something stupid like hold down the trigger.

You ARE firing in short, controlled bursts, right?

EDIT: That being said, I generally use the Mattock on every other class where I'm less concerned about weight, but this is a style choice rather than thinking the Revenant sucks.

The Widow can penetrate a Guardian's shield. And a Guardian. And then a second Guardian's shield. It has its uses.

Short, controlled bursts are for smart people. I like letting enemies get up close and then hip-firing Ranbo-style.

Less effective? Yes. More awesome?

So i finally unlocked the Revenant. And it is pretty awesome. I've used it with the turian sentinel and the Krogan Soldier. I put the stability mod (level 5) on for almost no kick-back and the scope for increased accuracy. Something to keep in mind for the people comparing it to other ARs you most likely have an Avenger or Mattock level 7-10 and the Revenant you just unlocked is level 1. Once that thing gets a couple levels it will be ridiculous. Rips through atlases on Bronze, the hit box is so big you don't have to worry about the spread. Good weapon that does not need any changes.

so any teammates outthere have an opinion of the rev. I often wonder what other people think when I use it. I think it can really do things a AR can not.

Push enemies away from down teammate to allow a rezz.

Sometimes it really seems to pin a phantom other times it seems like the phantom does not even know I am shooting at it.

Clog a hallway and slow multiple enemies from advancing. I would like to think when me teammates hear me go full auto that they know some big nasty is coming from my direction.

Hmm, unlocked the Revenant today...Was alright I suppose...Though I prefer my Mattock with Turian Sentinel. Going to try it out more later on and see it's worth. But after seeing this, I'm less than hopeful.

However, I unlocked the Carnifex today as well. So I guess I'll be using that or the Mattock if the Revenant turns out to be underwhelming..
