The Revenant doesn't suck at all. Is it the best choice for gold? Perhaps not, but it isn't as useless as most are making it out to be. In fact, my Revenant toting human soldier is consistantly second place on the scoreboard (occasionally third) in most silver/gold runs I've played without becoming a liability to the team.

Also, of course a Mattock X/Avenger X is going to outperform a mere Revenant I - I'm sure quite a few people forget to account for such facts.

Youre right, the Revenant sucks against Cerberus...

I bet it will dominate a horde of husks rushing towards you!

The balance and techniques will totally change based on who you are fighting! It will be awesome!

Basically this. I've been playing as Asari Adept with just Revenant (to keep cooldowns low) on Silver and consistently being first on the scoreboard.

I was somewhat underwhelmed by the damage output of the Revenant vs the weight.  I suppose some of it is the level... I have Level X Mattock or Avenger and just a Level II Revi.  Maybe it gets better, I don't know.

It is fun though, especially hitting Adrenaline Rush and letting the rounds fly.  Certainly viable on Bronze and Silver.  I don't care for it compared to the Mattock or Avenger on Gold because of the cooldown difference.

All in all it is ok as a support weapon.  You will get a lot of assists using it.  And agree with above, put some CC ammo powers on it, or even AP for some more usefulness

It's still rubbish at level X. The clip size is more reasonable, but you still can't hit things or use powers(because of weight). Fun for messing around with on bronze and silver.

It might just be my playstyle though.

i like using it as a soldier...stay near a ammo box.....SHREADED WHEAT!! add in some ammo power....WEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

It works well with the Turian Sentinel. Use Incendiary Ammo and Overload in tandem to blow up groups. I got about 70k(which is really high for a Sentinel from my experience) points on Gold with that strategy died at Wave 10. The Rev is surprisingly powerful versus Phantoms too.

The reload is still a pretty big problem though. But maybe the higher versions are better.

I know. With the Predator or Phalanx, I can get +200% recharge bonus, as opposed to 70%-ish with the Revenant, but that extra cooldown time only translates to about .4 or so seconds extra on Throw and .9 or so seconds extra on Stasis, which I didn't consider a game-breaking difference.

It just doesn't do enough damage. It still rips through armor though, but struggles with shields. Nowhere near as effective as in ME2.

Reload doesn't improve at all.  damage, ammo and weight do.

Sure... oddly it might be a bigger penalty on the classes that should be using it like Soldier.  Mattock and Katana together are lighter I think (well compared to a Revi II).

Just played with a Geth Infiltrator toting a Revenant.

He came 2nd in the first Gold Run vs Geth, and came 1st in the 2nd Gold Run against Cerberus.

Like it or not, some people make it work. He was absolutely tearing through the enemies. Phantoms cowered against his mighty LMG. Atlases were down in seconds. Magic stuff.

on the GI with a revenant its crazy if you use an ammo power and rail amp....crazy

 the revenant doesnt suck, in close quarters you can mow down ALOT of enemies with it, i use it on my krogan soldier at times when im usin my widow to snipe, **** gets close i throw a nade then spam that rifle and can clear rooms

With the turian soldier it does work with a stability damper, this was pre patch and it has only gotten better since then. With marksman specced with ROF it shreds through enemies
